Majmu Still On For July

Majmu – still on for July

Champion Australian-bred filly Majmu, who was withdrawn from Saturday’s Gr1 Woolavington Stakes at Greyville due to an elevated temperature, is still on track for the Vodacom Durban July.

Mike de Kock commented on Saturday: “Majmu showed no physical discomfort, but she had a spiked temperature on Friday and analysis of her blood confirmed that she may have been incubating something, so we couldn’t take any chances.”

There won’t be a serious interruption of the daughter of Redoute’s Choice’s work programme leading to the Durban July and Mike said: “She’ll be out for a day or two, this is just a little fever we weren’t sure about, she was actually just about fine on Saturday morning.”

That is bound to make it even tougher for punters as a good performance in the Woolavington 2000 would have been a comfort for the 3yo filly’s legion of supporters.
