I think you should select a side with a reserve keeper, defender , midfielder and striker and that covers you for the season , if you player is out long term your reserve comes in.

That’s a good idea Craig so we won’t be able to make transfers So we have team with those reserves who will be automatically put in if your team is missing a player through injury or suspension If we have a fantasy league then we then we should decide point scoring eg 5 for a goal 3 for an assist 5 for defenders and keeper for a clean sheet and 5 for a keeper saving a penalty which includes the kicker missing be it hitting the posts or kicking wide or over Don’t think that we should have any negative points eg yellow or red cards or conceding goals. Only one player from any team can be selected. We could also have score predictions so that it gives Lionel an opportunity to defend his title.

This season the comp is going to have a twist or two.
PL and Scottish PL
3 points for correct score and 1 point for correct result.
Each set of fixtures, PL and SPL will be combined
You can choose your own double points matches each week, 1 from the PL and 1 from the SPL. So correct score then scores you 6 or correct result 2
When submitting your prediction just add the word double to the two matches
If you enter and after a week or a month or whenever you don’t bother to continue all matches will be taken as a 0-0 prediction on your behalf with the double on the first carded match of each league
I will post the first round of matches soon (which will be SPL which kicks off b4 the PL)
No entry fee
Maybe Scotia can please organise a prize from one of the sites sponsors so that we can name the comp after that sponsor

A small insight on the Scottish PL
Everybody knows about Rangers and Celtic
Aberdeen are not too bad and a pretty good at home
StJohnstone won both domestic cups last season and like to play attacking football
Dundee are the team that have been promoted from last season very good defensively. Neighbours Dundee United are usually good at home. These two teams grounds are separated by a kids playground on the same street.
Hearts also promoted back into the SPL are the top team of Edinburgh. They have a compact stadium with the fans close to the pitch. Can be very intimidating place to play.
Hibernian from the East side of Edinburgh. All that they have going for them is their ground is nice
Livingston very good defensively and well capable of beating any team at home on their day
St Mirren from Paisley just outside Glasgow. Can provide a shock now and again
Ross County, the northern most pro club in the UK, Great little ground and is packed when Rangers and Celtic visit
Motherwell based south of Glasgow. Passionate fans who really get behind them. Best known for having a 6-6 draw against Hibs a few years back.

Let's hope that whoever signs up for the competition will stay to the end.

@cnc...many thanks for information about the various teams...I think Rangers and Celtic will lose 2-3 matches each outside of the matches they play against each other...and it is likely to happen at a small ground where the crowd is almost on the players...very intimidating...
I'm also going to check which grounds are narrow as top teams like to play wide and struggle on grounds which are narrow so those provide opportunities for "unusual" results...
All the best to fellow Clanners participating...
