I think the loss of Mane will prove very harmful to Liverpool's season...he got tired of living in Salah's shadow (from an accolades / awards perspective) even though he did the donkey work (pressing, putting in the tackles (some really dirty ones), running off the ball / in space, etc)...
Liverpool have other excellent players in the squad and newly purchased but when the heart only functions at 80%, the body won't deliver the same output...

Belatedly, he's up for African footballer of the year...probably because of Afcon win over Salah's Egypt...

On a serious note, United needed a good performance yesterday, psychologically. Yesterday's performance would have given everyone a massive boost in confidence and in their belief that they are on the right track. We all know the significance of confidence - if you don't, ask Mourinho.

Yesterday's result will have little impact of Liverpool - they know that they are just starting to warm up.

United now need to close the deal on the signings that they have identified, and convince CR7 to stay.

The so called lessor teams in the PL are going to be treated better now that PL ref chief Riley has gone along with reveres Dean, Friend, Atkinson and Moss. Too many big calls went in favour of the top 4 last season and seasons gone by with tat lot in charge.

They don’t get much help anymore. Since Ferguson left Riley, the former chief of refs, tried but along came VAR to squash that to a certain degree. Webb will clean up the corruption in the PL.
