Morning all and its day 9, almost on double figures so lets think positive.

Saturday normally a big sporting day, we have or had racing from Australia so could be a long day.

A song from the playlist is when i was a mod, lambretta and all, join along to get us upbeat for the weekend.

It is bucketing down in the East Rand. Hats off to my newspaper delivery chap. He hasnt missed a day. My wife packed a hamper for him and he was over the moon. Brought tears to my eyes.

My birthday song is Sin(Its No Sin) by Eddy Howard and his Orchestra. its about a guy whose loved one left him. Not so in my case. The wife and I have been together for 47 years. Thanks Bob for the reference to the site. It is fun.

Just a thought on the lock-down - I (like many) expect this to continue beyond the 21 days - but hopefully 'they' will fine-tune the restrictions - the wife went out to the local SPAR to replenish some 'essentials'; could buy some insect repellent for house -hold use - and some stuff for the pool (which looks like a swamp with all the rain) - but nothing for the garden (which resembles a jungle) - how stupid is that Surely if one goes to a specific shop, it makes no sense to have certain items in the shop fenced off (ok alcohol debatable) - but stuff like clothes, braai utensils etc etc ..... Really ?

This is a very good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this, your mind is still young and has no Parkinson Congrats!

Just my point of view regarding this highly unusual time. Has the world response not been significantly blown out of proportion? With the latest fatality rate calculated at 0.66 percent, in places like RSA where over a 100 people are killed every single day due to crime and road accidents, where is the sense in destroying the economy and countless small businesses and jobs?

Why not just focus all resources on the vulnerable, ie the aged and sickly?

And let everyone else return to the business of earning a living.

This all seems very drastic and short sighted, in my opinion.
