Nice to see bigger and more competitive fields being carded - thoughts:
R2: Not such an easy start to the BP, complicated by 3 first-timers, any of which could surprise - Singfosusie half-sister to the speedy 8x winner Singfonico - who knows - roughie to consider imo would be Super Tanaye who tries blinkers
R3: Retallick is speedy and best imo over 1000 - does not take on the strongest of fields so should prove hard to beat
R4: Small field, but very competitive; speed will be on so don't ignore Mardi Gras
R5: Another competitive sprint; Alesian Chief is on the up, but could struggle to give Rollwiththepunches 2 kgs - not too many without chances
R6: Not getting any easier; low-level F&M Handicap where the draw could play a part - Niewenhuizen runners drawn 1 and 2 and interesting that Gavin switches to Hear the Trumpet who has really not run well this track and trip, so for me of the 2, I prefer recent maiden winner Pick a Lily; Madam Patrice has not tried 1200 for ages, but has won over the distance - has taken a big drop in the ratings and from a good draw can't be ignored; Puff of Smoke improved out of sight last time, but for me needs to confirm and has a tough draw and a big weight
R7: Another F&M Handicap where Waya Yire looks well weighted receiving 3 kgs from easy maiden winner La Valliere; main danger imo is Laetitia's Angel who is a winner this track and trip and has also come down in the ratings; others to consider Space Race who has pole position, and Spanish Song, who may be better over 1000; Elusive Woman came from miles back last time and is going to surprise one of these days, but I think is better over 1400
R8: Classified Stakes where the 2 bottom weights Sophia's First and Dutchessburnedette are best in and I think they will fight it out from in-form Un Deux Trois; Understated will probably set his own pace and could provide the upset
R9: Yet another F&M Handicap where I think it lies between Wedding Bliss, Cap Estel and Lucky Shamrock, who is the best value at 16/1 - will prefer the longer straight here and on her penultimate will make them run imo
Enjoy
