Have had a look at the handicaps fellas and even though I like a few there are plenty I simply cannot eliminate. All those races just too much studying and some form guessing going on. Just not having that warm fuzzy feeling for anything when the competition could be anything, and Xmas was too expensive to be blowing money this early in the season (won't play slots today and won't play Vaal today). Off to the UK (Southwell) for me then until tomorrow. May the Gods be with you!

Why is the 3 the favourite?

Yes we need clarity from the tote on this. This is getting frustrating as I have noticed this same trend in the past!

i am gonna guess. The tote screen rounds the dividend displayed but in the back ground is the actual rand value wagered on each horse. In this case the 3 probably had a slightly higher rand value wagered even though win value was equal to the other horse. i doubt the Place pool has anything to do with who is tote favorite.

Correct. The 3, had slightly more wins on it. The place pool has nothing to do on which horse ends up the Tote favorite.

That's exactly right and yes the place pool has nothing to do with it.
