This week saw the launch of a number of exciting new 4Racing broadcast platforms geared towards servicing punters, bookmakers and all participants of the industry.



Racing 240



Racing 240, the brand new sports, lifestyle and entertainment channel that will be the home of 4Racing on DStv, launched on Wednesday 19 January 2022 at 17h30 on DStv Channel 240.



The 24 hour horseracing channel, operating under the auspices of 4RacingTV, will be available to all DStv Premium, Compact, Compact +, Family and Access subscribers.

It will feature the live races from all 4Racing venues from Highveld Racing (Turffontein and the Vaal), Nelson Mandela Bay Racing (Fairview) and Cape Racing (Kenilworth and Durbanville), as well as documentaries, magazine programming and the essential tipster and tote betting information punters will need to place their bets.



Racing 240 will also feature top international race days from global racing hotspots such as Dubai, United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore, Turkey, France, Sweden, Kenya and Zimbabwe. Major global racing events which will be broadcast on Racing 240 include the Dubai World Cup, Kentucky Derby, The Grand National, Epsom Derby, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Melbourne Cup, Hong Kong Vase and Royal Ascot.



Global Racing 1 and Global Racing 2

At 13h00 on Wednesday 19 January 2022 4Racing also launched the Global Racing 1 and Global Racing 2 betting channels on the www.4Racing.TV digital platform, dedicated to the punters and bookmakers that are the lifeblood of the sport.



Catering for the horseracing retail and digital bookmaker and for all racing customers, from seasoned professional punters to beginners, Global Racing 1 and Global Racing 2 will be available direct to the punter on all 4RacingTV digital platforms and mobile applications supporting iOS and Android smart devices, allowing punters to access the content wherever they may be.



For our authorised bookmakers and TAB stores, the channels will be distributed encrypted over satellite before month end.

An exciting feature for local trainers, jockeys, owners, punters and fans is that they will be able to record and archive every single one of their races from any 4Racing venue countrywide and create their own playlists for replay and post-race analysis.



Your favourite races and content will be shareable on Facebook and Twitter and downloadable to your smart phones.

Both channels will have live racing from around the world, including racing from Highveld Racing’s Turffontein and Vaal Racecourses, Cape Racing’s Kenilworth and Durbanville Racecourses, as well as Nelson Mandela Bay Racing’s Fairview Racecourse.



There will also be two-minute tipping previews shown in between all local 4Racing races from some of the country’s top tipsters and racing experts.



Here are a few simple steps to Register on the 4Racing.TV website ( www.4Racing.TV ):

Click On the Registration Tab and enter your valid South African cell phone number.

Click or scroll down to enter your password that consists of 8 characters, ensuring it contains a special case character and a numeric character.

If you don’t enter your password correctly, the system will decline it until the correct password is entered.

Your Registration will then be accepted.



Click on the accept the terms and conditions box and Click Register.

You will be sent an activation code SMS to your mobile number.



Enter the activation code.



If you are having difficulty go to receive your activation code, click on “Resend Activation Code”.

And If you still cannot login, click the home button to the site and click “Didn’t complete Registration” and then “Click Resend activation Code”.



Activate your account by entering your cell phone number and your password then Login.



Once you activate your 4Racing.TV Package, you will then be able to enjoy access to 4Racing.TV content.

All the content on 4Racing.TV, including magazine shows, documentaries, betting shows and tipster analysis, is free to the punter and horseracing enthusiast.



The live racing channels, Racing 240 will be available on DStv, and the Global Racing 1 and Global Racing 2 channels featuring all the best live racing and expert tips, will be available for a subscription fee of just R2 daily, R39 monthly and R299 annually.



Two users or sub accounts will be allowed per subscription, with a maximum of two devices with and a maximum of two concurrent streams.

Tried to subscribe to the daily R2 package just to see if the dismal coverage on 240 Multichoice channel is any better on the digital platform - but the transaction failed - with no explanation on why it failed

Sure it's an overlook , but they are only excepting South African mobile numbers on registration...

DSTV is reknown for changing channel numbers. DSTV’s original channels were two digits and then changed to three digits. I can’t remember Tellytrack’s two-digit channel but it later morphed into 239. Then Tellytrack became 249. What will happen to the brand 240Racing when DSTV sees fit to re-allocate another channel to 240Racing?

Guys - After watching the Channel 240 and Tellytrack next to each other - I have a new found appreciation for Tellytrack.

The audio on 240 is atrocious. The visuals feel like I am back in 1990.
The graphics pre and post race - I am shocked at this.
Tellytrack better not shut down until this channel sorts itself out and actually lives up to all the hype that it chose to create.

... and TellyTrack also has the split screen which I didn’t see on 240.

@Thor, I fully agree with your comments, however, IMO 4Q Racing have an award winning production on channel 240 - they just need to add some background porn music from the 70's which will compliment their picture quality.

This is what happens when leaders with no knowledge, feel nor understanding of the industry making announcements about announcements, on how they going to digitise yet they can't deliver a basic high quality product (unedited from the UK) to our homes!!!

I remember Tellytrack being channel 34.

Showing my age.

Of all the channels my favourite was without doubt the original IGN channel

I just registered, attemted to part with my R39, just a blank pop up, tried messaging, no help there eiither, so seems i'll just have to give TT another months subscription.

A year ago we were told there was a full plan in place to “improve” Tellytrack “ we only need control”. What happened?

Move the video to 29 minutes thereabouts
