Get to the track early. If they going to check everyone's status and still argue with those not aware of req. the queues are gonna be epic.

Durban, 24 June 2022: With the news this week that all Covid restrictions and regulations have been removed, and that all sporting and other events have opened up unconditionally, Gold Circle looks forward to welcoming thousands of horse racing fans to the 2022 Hollywoodbets Durban July at Greyville Race Course on Saturday 2 July.

β€œThe fact that proof of Vaccination or negative PCR Tests is no longer a requirement for entry to the race course is most welcome and a great boost for the event. Entrance tickets at R230-00 are on sale at all Computicket outlets and racegoers can look forward to a great day with a mixture of high-quality thoroughbred horse racing, exciting fashion and contemporary music combining to ensure an incredible sporting and social experience,” said Marketing and Events Executive Stephen Marshall.

β€œThe Durban July has traditionally brought the rainbow nation together in a spirit of goodwill and excitement and with the support of our new sponsors Hollywoodbets, this year will now be no different.” he added.

The first of 12 races is due off at 11:50 with the Hollywoodbets Durban July scheduled for 16:00. Gates will open at 09:00.

Hi Bob, following Gold Circle's media release earlier today, perhaps change the header of this subject to avoid confusion?

It's so good to see the amount of effort being put in to make such a big day as special as it can be! Well done to all involved that are doing their best to make the July 2022 as great it can be! Let's hope we see some record pools on the day!

If it wasn’t for visionary bookmakers where would SA racing be?

Not first prize - but if that's what it takes for now to bring punters to the course and money into pools then so be it. Accolades to Hollywood either way! As much critism there is - best thing about the last year is there has been an effort and a difference on all fronts. Better than the same old complaints of before.
