Haydock's big-race Saturday meeting must pass an 8am inspection on raceday after an upturn in conditions meant its planned check on Friday was not needed.
Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: "There is just a little bit left to come out, but we expect to be fit to race today after a milder night than forecast, which has left us in a better place than we expected. So we have called an 8am precautionary inspection for tomorrow.
Haydock's fixture is set to feature four Grade 2s and is the highlight of ITV Racing's coverage, with the Peter Marsh Chase (2.40) and The New One Unibet Hurdle (2.05) the main races.
Taunton's Portman Cup card, meanwhile, has been called off due to frozen ground and another drop in temperature.
The Dublin Festival(Leopardstown) is on Sat/Sun 4h/5th February about 5 weeks before Cheltenham.
This meeting is very cleverly placed by the Irish as all distances that will be contested at the Cheltenham Festival are available.
UK should do the same.
