Super Bowl 2017 Betting Preview

Super Bowl 2017 takes place in the early hours of Monday morning as Atlanta Falcons take on New England Patriots at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

New England Patriots are the AFC champions and they are appearing in their ninth Superbowl and quarterback Tom Brady has six previous Super Bowls under his belt. That certainly gives the Patriots a huge edge when it comes to Superbowl pedigree as the Atlanta Falcons have made just one previous appearance, a 34-19 loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 1999. Whilst the Patriots are regulars in the Super Bowl, the Falcons are coming off some lean years having failed to make the play offs in each of the last three seasons.

The Patriots 14 to 2 record this season saw them average 27.6 points per game and 250 points conceded was the lowest total of all the NFL teams. Atlanta’s record was 11 to 5 and they averaged 33.8 points per game making them the top scorers in the NFL with quarterback Matt Ryan rarely short of options

The NRG Stadium played host to Super Bowl 2004 and we saw 61 points scored in total as Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers 32-29.
