Some to consider...

Race 1 - 1 Quick Run
Race 2 - 1 King's Spear
Race 5 - 3 Lucky Shamrock

All the best to all Clanners...stay safe and healthy...

Life's too short to have a long face...so, cherish the good, learn from the bad and forget the rest...

If Darryl Maree and Daryn Burroughs were only spiritual counsellors or pastoral care givers.................. Throwing in Clyde Basel as a type of shepherd / referee, what can go wrong?
The world is a better place with the conviction and enthusiasm these guys go about their daily business, any troubled soul would feel better after a session.
These guys will guide and shield you through the hottest and harshest desert when left stranded, without having to use any sunscreen.
After attending a session with them I usually feel refreshed, guided, protected, enlightened, healed and strengthened by their words of encouragement and wisdom. Daryn does not beat around the bush, without changing expression throughout the session, he tells it as it is. Darryl on the other hand just possesses the gift of the gab when it comes to guiding you in the right direction.

Then I have a rusk with coffee, contemplating about what just happened.................

Then I remembered that you get a cold desert like Antarctica as well..................

Will their guidance be good enough to carry me through the freezing desert of the Big T?

Perhaps I must make a turn at another congregation lead by Laurel and Hardy of South African racing. Nico Kritsiotis and Neil Andrews. For this session you need plenty of patience and time.

If that does not do the trick, you can always turn to the godfather, James Goodman for advice.

All of these “caregivers” are good for the game.

Amen

Usual winter menu with competitive handicaps and a few Maidens - thoughts:

R2: 2 first-timers being supported in the market, and they won't have to be too bright to feature here; the others like Brief Crusade, Maraca Ginger and Who's That Star seem much of a muchness - but any of them could feature if the 2 first-timers do not run as suggested by the market - and the stable comments do not seem that bullish - so who knows?

R3: Tuscan Winter does seem on the up and should be the right one here; Bowie drops in trip and tries blinkers, but has had a few chances and is held on their last meeting by Chief of State

R4: Competitive handicap with lots with chances; I like Country Squire with his favorite jock back on; Written in Stone should hold Sea Virescent unless the latter find some improvement with blinkers - but WiS's last run wat not that great and may need a break; Successful Secret and Certifiable not without chances

R5: Does look a two-horse race between Mariposa and Lucky Shamrock; Amplify may still improve, and could feature if she does; Intercity not for me

R6: Sekhmet does seem the right one, but has been winless for 599 days and last time had a lot in her favor as well, so I would not be that positive about her chances; Florida Keys seems better over this sort of trip, but would need some luck from a wide draw; Big City Girl also better over 1400 and not without a chance, along with Soul of Whit, Sudden Break and perhaps Meet the Captain

R7: Not getting any easier; safest options to run in the PA for me would be Cordillera (widish draw, but good form this track and trip) and Golden Spoon (seems best over this sort of trip and has pole position); Sultanah another with a good chance and she should hold Paton's Tears on their last meeting; Spice Market probably will make them come and catch her and had excuses in her last start; then there is Louis Gem who bounced back to form last time - all in all not easy

R8: Another competitive Fillies and Mares Handicap; I did back Elusive Woman yesterday at double her current odds, and she must have as good a chance as any - MR has been dropping quite a lot; Mamaquera also has lot going for her, but Gavin deserts her to ride Chloris, so who knows? Galaxy Raiders is capable and tries blinkers from a good draw, Dance Lesson another with claims, while Talinn is also showing signs of returning to some sort of form - for me I think Vertigo Again has more to do

R9: Eskimo Pie does stand out a bit here, biggest danger imo is Willo'theWisp who has a good draw in his favor; Leading Lad may need the run and probably prefers more ground; for me Fifth of July needs to do more; Capetown Affair has found some market support, so probably needs consideration as well

Enjoy B)
