To get 300 wickets in test cricket is brilliant, to get 500 as a fast bowler must put you up there and in Andersons case he is now one of the greats of cricket. He should pass Courtney Walsh at 519 and even may get by McGrath who has 563. The three spinners are too far ahead to catch in what time Anderson has left as an International.

Hopefully Steyn can stay fit for 10 tests or so which will then also bring him 500 test wickets. Steyn has 417 from just 84 Test matches.

More wickets then Wasim, Donald, Pollock, Waqar, Thomson, Lillie, Ambrose, Steyn,Holding, Garner, Roberts, Marshall, Hadlee.

Anderson, for me, is in the same class as Glenn McGrath. Unplayable at times and merciless when batters lack confidence. Steyn, for me, will not get 500 wickets.

In my humble opinion, what Anderson has achieved by getting 500 wickets is brilliant... I however still believe he is just above average when playing test matches outside of England... His main weapon is his control with the swinging ball, and make no mistake, he is blady brilliant at it, however once the ball stops swinging, I feel he is not as good... Although he has taken more wickets than other bowlers that have graced us with their talent, I do believe there has been better, more rounded bowlers around... Just my humble opinion ofcourse, but take nothing away from his milestone, phenominal....

andersons record away from england and especially in asia is average he is nowhere near in the class of steyn or malcolm marshall in this regard ...there many other quickies ahead of him besides those 2
