Personally, I won't be interested if it involves doing it on an "official" site with all the transfers, weekly selections etc. I know I won't devote that much time to it. If CnC devises something simple where I can pick my team and then only worry about transfers say once or twice a season then fine.

I think Super Red suggested and did something similar for last season on an official site, I picked my team and never went back, I have no idea how well it went and if others could be bothered to go back and do changes etc. Even the scoring system CnC suggested above seems over-complicated to me, especially if he is going to do it himself. If its a simple, fun thing then great, if it involves more than that I'll pass, studying for the races is more than enough for me! lol

I will make it simple

points for scoring a goal
points for assisting a goal
points for clean sheets
points for missing penalty (defence)
minus for yellow and reds

select 15 players for the season
your starting 11 in a 4,4,2 formation
your 4 reserves must be a defender, a midfielder, a striker and one other whatever position you like.
So if your original defender or midfield or striker choice is injured or suspended then your reserve steps in that position. If you have say 2 defenders out then you dip out. That's part of selection not to put in players that get sent off often or face suspensions with too many bookings. Anyone can get injured at anytime unfortunately.

select a captain and he will score double points

you will have 100 points to buy your 15 players
no player will cost more than 10 points
for example the top players will cost you 10 points then 9 , 8 and so on down to 3 points ( I will follow what the papers put down as top, middle and low players ) only 2 players per EPL team can be selected

its really easy to run as I have done it before and it worked out pretty well

Obviously we will select a newspaper where we will score from although they add in extra points for appearances and take points away if you are replaced during the match. (we wont do that)

I agree that we go with C&C with a simple format rather than the official comp

What about budget.
I can see a lot of people having similar teams..
Why not have £100 million budget.

the budget is 100 points to buy 15 players dave. So you can buy say 2 top players at 10 points each and you will end up having to buy a few players from the weaker teams. Not everyone will buy for example Toure and Silva or Saurez and Kompany. I think that it will be a good mix

We will also have a transfer window

the first just like the real one up until the end of August and the second one in January

we will make restrictions like maybe only 4 per window.

Good for United Fans,they have no 10 point players .
