Why is it such an issue if some people still want to display it? Is it really worth making such a fuss about, I mean its something that happened and is now gone.

My feelings are that the entire planet has become over sensitive and politically correct with everything

Maybe we should all just chill and respect what people like and dislike

Cheers to John Lennon for imagine

We should all be appreciative of the fact that it is a sign of oppression. The people who display the old flag clearly don't want to move on in life.

America experienced the same issues last year with their historical Confederate monuments which were being vandalized as well.

These "symbols" are hurtful reminders to the oppressed, whilst the past should not be forgotten, put them in museums for future generations to see what divided us.

100% with you Dave. Most of the politically correct bulldust revolves around many of the present generation, cant give your own kid a smack on the bottom if naughty. What rubbish. The older generation is far more balanced and accepting than the present one. They seem to think that they are entitled and should be given everything but moan like hell when it doesnt go that way. If I demanded anything from parent's, spoke back to them etc I got a good smack on my bum with his hand. School with a cane was the same. I dont think it did any damage but made me think twice. My favourite is many youngsters need a "gap year" to find themselves!!!! :S :S Look in the mirror. There you are!!

@ Craig, unless one was on the right side of the old flag, then no doubt political correctness is bulldust.

If the old flag is such a minor issue, why is it that Germany does not replace their flag with a Swastika, how much harm can that cause, it's just a flag after all?

Bayern I agree about the flag. I am more annoyed about political correctness where I cant wish some one Happy Christmas, or read Noddie and Big ears because it might hurt someones feelings. That is people being pathetic.

Here's my view Craig, being a "Coloured" South African, hopefully now we are all seen as South Africans, irrespective of skin colour. Political correctness is a very fine line, and one cannot cherry-pick what is and is not deemed offensive. We are and can be politically incorrect within the boundaries of our own private space, it is a form of tribalism and history has dictated that.
