Hey Tangles,
My grandparents weren't racing folk, but my mom was horsey and my parents made their way into racing via the Cape Hunt & Polo Club. My dad was an avid amateur jockey and developed such a passion for the industry that he went to work full time for Milnerton racecourse (I'm really giving my age away now!!).
We had a smallholding outside Malmesbury from which we ran a small spelling and breeding operation. Our biggest homebred successes were Jason's Rock (trained by Louie Naude) and Sweet Whisper (who was trained by Crunchie Cronje). She turned into quite a good broodmare and seems to have saved her best for last with her colt In A Rush.
I'm afraid I didn't know George Zellie - sorry !

Hearty congrats to Robyn Louw for the best article “How Full is Your Glass ?” I’ve read for a long time.
I love her style of writing and really think she is a huge new asset to our wonderful game of horseracing.
She is a breath of fresh air as such a passionate but relatively new-comer to the racing game.
I certainly do hope she is given the opportunity to keep writing so beautifully for a very long time in the Sporting Post. I certainly look forward to her articles.
Sincerely
Keith Steinberg
