I'm not going to take sides just point out the following, you guys can take from it what you will....
Shams commented ......"The whole idea of bringing the International jockeys here is to get FANS back to the course. Yes ,they get a nice trip to sunny SA out of it but we then get a chance to see some of the best in the world take on our best ( who are also up withe best)"
I don't think anybody on here is dead against these jocks coming out, don't even think we begrudge Larry for bringing them out year in and year out. Good for him, he is trying.
Also nobody is challenging the fact that he is doing some great things for horseracing behind the scenes. Good for him.
.....what I believe the people on here are questioning is his handling of the granting of the Protea colors as well as his decision to go on Tellytrack and publically taking on both Robin (who is a superior journo who has racing at heart) and Brett (who may or may not have issues with Larry, some vindicated some perhaps not). what did he have to gain from it?
He contradicted himself countless times in the rant and he also seemed to employ sarcasm to further his vindication of his explosion.
Good for Larry who tries to do what he can for racing, but unfortunately this time he didn't handle the issue in the correct way. Phumelela and the RA and the NHRA get attacked and lambasted on a daily basis here and in certain segments of the press. They never react and they never go on Under Starters Orders and launch an attack on two members of the racing fraternity who could not defend themselves.
Why now, why this time..............
Nothing to do with the actual jockey challenge, training tracks or the unfortunate demise of a respected trainer.
Just my opinion of course.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do things...........it is the failure to recognise that which has put so many issues in racing in dispute and why even the NHA rules are applied selectively............it's all about the zero tolerance principle.
Well meaning doesn't justify it.

Is she Oppenheimers daughter?
I'm intrigued to find the answer to Easy's question.
One more thing, are the uk jockeys that are coming over not welcomed by SA racing fans
