I am a big fan of networking and sharing information and ideas / opinions and think ABC is a genius idea for punters. Good to hear other people's opinions and reasoning for backing a horse and have a bit of banter at the same time. Hopefully can contribute in the future.

Dave, Just cannot believe that this thread is 17year 3 months old. i have read the first 30 pages , very interesting. Wonder how many of the old timers are still around. Yes Guys I'm Still Standing - Elton John (but not in the pic6, lol). Maybe some of the old timers can just post a comment so we know you still around. Tc guys

Still drink JWB but my afternoon drink is Dave special which is LARGE bacardi with lime juice and touch of coke zero with plenty ice .

19 Years ago I registered on a blog called Africanbettingclan. More out of curiosity than anything else,
Online tech was starting to find its niche, smart phones were about to replace older cellular technology and ABC seemed to have a unique way of giving ordinary punters a view into the small closed world of horse racing.

19 years later a lot has changed,
Mbeki is no longer president.
I have rolled into middle age like a creaking and grumbling ox wagon.
I am no longer married. She left and decided a complete different continent and hemiphere would be the only solution to her hapiness. 
I owned a few horses in partnership
Met some amazing people Dave Scott, Sue Scott, John Finlayson, Zietman, George Zoro Chrisochos, Robert Brogan but only on line. Elvis Barry Frodo Eben and many many more who share a passion and love for horse racing.
We also sadly lost some good people. Countrymember from ABC Website
Racing SA has been through its ups and down none more than Marcus Jooste and the Phumelela collapse. Covid 19 and the near total collapse of SA racing.
SA racing is stable at present and is blessed by two large benefactors in the Heffers and Slack/Oppenheimer Daughters.

Frankel, Equinox, Winx, Ka-ying Rising and many more horses have been added to list of legends.
Chautauqua and Pakistan Star are some of best moments in this time.
In SA we saw many good horse but no many that will be legends.

Anyways amazed how fast 19 years have gone and how much living took place in that time.

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life.

Would also like to thank you for your wonderful contributions and facts and figures on racing trends .

I would enjoy more inputs from the Clan on likes and dislikes especially from our competition players who only come to life when posting entries.

Not much has changed from myside in 19 years apart from my health which remains poor after the mystery virus .

I still like a bacon roll, drink JWB and Dave specials. 
My music is same 60/70 
I still support Hearts and good times at the moment. 

Still Game has been added to Only Fools and Horses as funny shows.

The world has also gone crazy between Donald emerging and Cyril and the ANC performance much to be desired.
