He is a hit and miss sire(MogoK) i think- they look great but some are pretty dismal - I still think the great KABOOL will throw a Kandidate soon and the right one will destroy everything on the vaal sand - tried to get your trainer to buy one on the cape sales but he only wanted to know where he could find some Kitalphas!!!!

I fancy Requiem to prove himself as a Good Sire - especially of Fillies.

He has thrown some terrific looking animals amongst his first crop and although some say looks aren't everything - having good Conformation, being well Balanced and an Athletic build, not too mention good Dam lines, can only help in establishing him as an excellent choice as a 'freshman' Sire.

As they say: 'Time will tell'.

Jim.

I have also heard that the Requiem's tend to be a bit on the small side. But "Dynamite comes in small packages"
Teal was hardly a horse (Stand to be corrected, but did he not stand at 14.3hh?)

Small size. . .

My Filly is 16 hands and counting - probably end up 16.2 lol!

Anyhow guys, big, small or medium it's what's inside that counts, and yes I mean HEART!

All the best Cats w/yours, and I'll see you at the track once mine turns 3 - Jim.

OUZO Cuckoo - I'll have a few on the plane for you!

Much thanks for all your hospitality Jess, I owe you one (if not several - hic lol!). You made me feel at home, and showed me a good time, with the lads on our 'saturday magical mystery tour' dbl-lol!!

Plus it was fantastic to hook up with all the ABC boys - far to many to mention, but special thanks to Dave, Mark, and John the 'Tartan A-Team' for showing me the Turffontein craic'- including a visit to see Uncle George.

And it was great to put faces to the posters TS, SAP01, Mr H to name but a few.

Well chaps, I'm flying off pretty soon, so all the best guys - I'm looking forward to my return already, when the Babies are on the ground.

All the best - OUZO!

Jim.

I've never seen a Victory Moon or a Nysaean in the flesh (although I have seen Nysaean himself and liked him), but I would take a chance with either of them anyday. In fact, I sent a mare to Nysaean last season, and toyed with sending one in Victory Moon's direction as well.

I think Tamburlaine could offer value of the second season sires. He has only had a handful of runners and has yet to fire, but he was a well performed racehorse who got some decent looking specimens in his first crop and I think he's worth taking a chance with before he starts getting winners - which he surely will. They usually come from top farms, which hardly hurts their chances.

Badger's Drift is a third season sire whose stock may yet improve with maturity. I do find quite a few of his yearlings to be frankly unimpressive in appearance, but there have been some nice specimens in the mix. Some of his early runners have shown reasonable ability, and I suspect they won't sell for telephones nos. at the moment.

For a reason I cannot explain or put my finger on, I have a niggling doubt in my brain about Dynasty. Still, I will no doubt see some at Vintage this weekend and could change my mind. It will also be interesting to see if the Vars look like the powerhouse sprinters you would expect from a sire like that.
