It's amazing that, although Befair is theoretically not open to SA bets, it is still a very accurate indicator of the "graft"
i wonder who is behind it
same thing happening for executive power

Drier cleaning up on this muddy day.
Very poor run from the Zulu.
Wonder if Drier can win the last

decent go on Ice Run, most significant than fav
if you lads don't mind me updating the clan of significant moves from betfair i'll continue to do so - i know it helps as a punter when you know there is hard money (fixed price) and not just totalisator flucs

whats the point? the market is tiny and most of the money comes from watching markets in South Africa... Interbet is a far better guide than betfair

Plus we have betting 48 and 72 hours in advance for some meetings.. Betfair gets the dribs and drabs from 10am onwards on race days

the amount bet is quite significant on betfair. for r6 a total of 100k AUD was wagered on the race and about 70k of that was on Executive Power (someone had a few single wagers of 25k and 15k). is this surprising for you locals?
EDIT: btw this all happens in the last 15mins prior to the race
and according to my national totalisator (Aus) there was only a pool of 9952 AUD and if i'm not mistaken, this pool is merged with the south african totalisator board

Not surprising at all, but we don`t pay much attention to tote win pools in South Africa, one aussie punter was destroying them a few years ago, cheers for letting us know
The uk version of betfair says the pools were tiny today

I feel like the Aussie pools might be a little more helpful as the time of day there makes it more of an evening enjoyment for which more people are off from work and can have a punt.
Better than the UK barometer imo.

True, Chris just tried to access Aus Betfair but was geo blocked
Same with UK betfair, if there is local racing on then the pools shrink, but if there is no UK racing the pools can get crazy.. But most no interest since the locals were barred

i will keep an eye on Interbet from now on but do you just refer to the fixed price fluctuations from opening odds to closing odds?
i'm not sure how it works in south africa but in aus- if one corporate bookie goes off on a runner, they all go off. typically a large bet from the connections of the horse in question, betfair also responds similarly as well

Interbet has a bookie to punter exchange , even though the volume has went down hill the markets are worth watching
