Hi Dave. Thanks, it was Bosman street, not Church street. Do you know what happened to Tom Verhave & Walter Wiegand ? Two of my good friends at the time ???

Often visited Pretoria as the company that I worked for in Cape Town had its HQ in Pretoria. Did not bother with the horses as there were some seriously hot chicks in Pretoria. Enjoyed going to Caledonian Ground to watch football and the night life was great

The Callies to watch Arcadia Shepards
My friends were Kai Johansson and Roy Mathews, alex mo morrison , vincent julius , gary dodd etc
The good old days
Could go to the match, have a drink, go for a meal and movie, get a taxi home and still have change from R10
Lol

Could probably post on the "getting on" thread, but just a mention on Bosman St
Not sure of year but its when Space walk won july on disqualification ( thats another story)
We had 2 brothers Ghani ? Not sure of spelling
They used to sit in a car in the street and phone Eerenstien and Prinsloo to send down the clerks
The clerks would come back up stairs with 2 cases , 50 grand in each
They would then make the call, they want 100 grand on an even money shot, the lads would start phoning Joburg and at the same time the clerks would run around the circular room, pointing to the top of the board and you could basically write your own ticket on how much you wanted to lay.
Fun days
