With Arkle I associate B/W TV,Peter O'Sullivan,Giving Stalbridge Colonist 35lb and beaten 1/2 a length,3 Gold Cups and Fanmail addressed to 'Himself,Ireland' got to him.

London News did it for me. I just got into racing ( taking bets for father on law...one thing led to another lol) when he shot onto the scene.

Absolutely loved him. In fact, his name was my default password for many years...until my wife delivered her first foal.

I remember leaving church early to see him him win the race in HK.

The 1996 July with London News was one I will never forget , I was on the finish line and that crowds roar carried him over the line , never seen a payout line like I saw that year

A few before him but Special Preview was my favourite (first 2yr old to be awarded Highveld Horse of the Season, 1994)

I was a young lad, and already hooked on racing, when Harry Hotspur made his debut at Milnerton. I was on track that today and what a special day it was. Already rumoured to be a Champion even prior to his debut, a larger than usual crowd was in attendance to see him blow his opposition away. He won 9 of his 11 career starts and was quite possibly the best looking horse I have ever seen!! (Over The Air was also a very special "looker".)
