I want racing to start, but why should it start without punters and owners?

It is unfortunately a reality for the time being that all punting will be on-line and I am sure all owners would want their horses to race even if they cannot personally attend?

Sha Tin today was the first meeting when increased numbers allowed with Owners that could bring guests and more other support staff allowed on top of Jockeys, trainers,Travelling Stable Staff,Course Staff admin etc.Obviously a progressive thing.
Bob,
I was very concerned whether they would have allowed the 4 day Cheltenham meeting in mid-march to go ahead, bearing in mind there would have been no social distancing there!

From what I heard... I don't think horseracing was given the green light.... In my opinion horseracing means nothing to the Command Council...... It's probably not even considered.....

From snaith Facebook page
Snaith Racing

SA HORSE RACING OUT THE GATES
Horse Racing in South Africa is set to resume on Monday 1 June, behind closed doors.
This after a 66-day absence due to national lockdown which nearly crippled the racing industry.
We would like to once again make special mention to all the owners for their incredible patience.

Unfortunately Snaith has jumped the gun, the NHA will need to confirm with the government before they are allowed to race... And we can guess how that will go
