Trainer's Comments suggestions

I welcome the work being done to get trainer comments pre-raceday (something that should have been done years ago)
I suggest the interviewers give less of their own form opinions when asking about a runner - Just name the horse and ask what it's chances are and perhaps what the trainer makes his main danger. Let the trainer tell you what he thinks. Sometimes it sounds like the interviewer is trying to make a case for their own form bias. Also perhaps ask the trainer which is his best on the day as it becomes farcical when every horse running has a quartet chance or will improve (If you listen to today's PE calls you might want to put field in almost every race)
But at least we are moving forward .

Assessing a horses chances 24 hours out from the race is dodgy. Have someone on track interviewing trainers leading up to the running of each race. Sometimes horses don’t travel well or don’t eat up or are just off it on race day.

I wanna here from trainers when:

Horse has changed yards
Horse gelded
Rested for more than 90 days. Why and How are they doing!
1st timers that are in the top 5 betting
and maybe when horse is ODDS ON in KZN tell us how far back it plans to run.

in a perfect world yes but trainer's are often with owners or talking to jocks before the race - Also lots of bets are taken way before race 1 as the majority of punters have jobs so they can't be in front of a TV midweek - Some centres do try to talk to trainers on race-day - The Cape is the best at that - some trainers also don't want to talk to the media in general which also challenging for the interviewer ... I'm more of a believer in showing the last 400m of the most recent form race of maybe the top 4 in the betting before horses go down -

The trainer should also tell us when they've been purposefully undercooking a horse to manage its Merit Rating, and when they've finally decided to prepare the horse well enough.
The trainer should also tell us when they've had to lie in the computaform comments so that the owner or them could get the price.
The trainer should also tell us when they're planning on betting the companion to the odds on favourite during the last few mins before race time.
In other news, I am delusional.

Race 2: PEACH DAIQUIRI - horse was pumped into favourite. Won like a good thing. Trainer's comments was a joke. Why even bother?

The Oz trainers could teach us a thing or two about comments on the chances of their charges.
They are aware that punters are part of the food chain so biting the hand that feeds will not enable growth and sustainability in horse, harness or dog racing.

Computaform trainers comment for Peach Daiquiri......
Shows pace,educational run

10 Peach Daiquiri 8.33 7.14 6.25 5.56 3.57 3.33 2.86 2.50 2.27 2.50 2.86 2.50 2.27 2.50

Why don't the stipes question these type of lies?
It's outright bullshitting the punters and the trainers want to know why the punters are leaving and SA horse racing is going backwards.
It's their livelihood at stake you would think they would try to help the punters out at least instead of deceiving them.
Rather refuse to comment than taint your name. But I suppose money means more to some.

But our persons in the know want to re-route (for want of a better word) money from the bread and butter punters into their own pockets...I wouldn't be surprised if a small group of persons in the know are winning the bigger payout exotic bets...would sure pay a lot better than their share of the winning stakes they get...

To be fair it's best to get the comments the morning of the race as there are many factors that can go wrong.

It's worth a try and something new but might end up the same as barrier trials.

Let's see if it's beneficial?

Well done to trainers for their contributions and I am sure it would have been easier to say "no comment "

Horses can make a fool of us all.
