Brandon Bailey

Brandon Bailey seems like a really nice guy and is clearly passionate about his racing. The problem is that he's a pretty useless commentator. I often wonder whether I'm watching the same race as he is ! He gets it so horribly wrong that it's staggering.

I have no doubt you backed Tipsy Tarragon at the Vaal...your post is very very harsh and completely unnecessary! We all out here trying our best for the sport of racing, the game that we love so much, your negativity and pocket talking gives you NO RIGHT to be ugly to people. Yes we get it wrong, sometimes we get it right, but that's all part of learning, we all make mistakes, we human.You more than welcome to come and call a race??? It's a New Year, perhaps we need to start looking at the positive, it goes a long way...please feel free to contact me directly, I'm more than willing to give you my cell number.

Odd. I find him the best commentator. You can't please everyone.

Hi Brandon - good of you to respond here; I agree we 'all' make mistakes and commentary bloopers will slip in from time to time - so no issue there; what I do find very irritating, is that you feel the need to call every horse, jockey, trainer and owner a champion - just call the race without all the flowery compliments - and no, I have never called a race :dry:

No comment! Because the last time i did it was brought up at a meeting that we defend him on ABC.. So i'm not going to say i'd rather listen to Brandon... oops

100% agree....Brandon works really very hard IMVHO.....Even though he's not well at the moment, he still juggles between calling,presenting and travelling to my hometown Gqeberha. I personally travelled alot in my working career and it was very tiring. People think it's glamorous, but on the contrary, it takes alot out of you.

So for me, i love his commentating but certain things can be toned down. But for that i use my mute button...LOL

Brandon, as you were calling that race i sat here holding my breath hoping that Just Be Nice wins the race as i found it too ironic after reading this thread hahahaha.....Nice comment there after the race was run hahahahahaha :silly: :whistle:

I have seen this guy on Sky Sports Racing. He comes across as super enthusiastic and enjoys what he’s doing. He is good for racing so don’t knock him as nobody screws up on purpose

It's a very emotional game and much highs and lows due to the financial implications.

I remember having a cubicle at Bosman Street and Smiley Moosa called a race when a hot fav won and Smiley says something along the lines " we have killed the bookies "
Hendrick Prinsloo threw the telephone ☎️ through the glass window screaming "I will kill that little bastard" ...........

So it's safer using the internet 🤔

Excellent response. Thats the right attitude. Listen to all opinions/criticism Brandon. Not all will have merit though. Develop a filter.

Work on the development areas you validate. Then go back to the originator for feedback. As a side note: even dinosaurs have development areas, so to be too distressed that you have some.
