Going 'good to soft' with showers expected this afternoon - makes a complicated card a bit harder - thoughts ....
R1: Maiden Handicap so not easy; Raceway ran her worst races over more than 1000, while Phuti could not beat a very weak field last week, so I'm siding with Delaware River - ran in soft conditions in Durban in what looks a fair field and gets weight from both Raceway and Phuti; others who are not without a chance include Savara's Princess (might be better this trip), Bella Boop Boop (best form down this straight) and Lilac Snow (Khumalo rides); Code Word needs to show he is suited to a sprint
R2: At the weights, I think Underdog should take a lot of beating; In the Willows and Trip to States could be dangerous, while Ubermench gets as much as 12 kgs from Underdog
R3: Sword of Light should improve this trip, but no certainty imo; Madame Pompadour has run her best races down this straight and with Khumalo up, could prove dangerous; the de Kock stable expect a better run by Universal Girl up in trip, so who knows ?
R4: Bellerophon made a good debut and is trading at odds-on, but the draw might be an issue; Amazon Queen has run 2 fair races and as a filly gets 3kgs from the favorite, so a good chance imo, while Seventh Fleet seems best of the rest
R5: Competitive handicap; Dylan's Champ is overdue for his second win, but not a lot between him and Gamer, who should be right there imo; Sheets and Goggles, Mattiazo and Spy Story (who is trying further again) completes those with chances imo
R6: Very open; Chabal is finding support in the market, so must have a chance against the females Lava Lamp (good form and may be better than rated, but this female jock has not set the world alight) and Kiss of Fire (stilll seems well-handicapped with the allowance); I think Fushimi Inari could run better over a suitable trip (has come down from an 84 to a 66 and gets a further 1,5 kg allowance courtesy of Mayhew)
R7: Palace Prince good last win, but he has risen 8 points in the handicap; biggest challenger imo is Xenophon; others to consider may be Falcon Strike and Biofarmer, while stable is confident that Beamonesque could get closer
R8: Open race; In the Ether is running from the same rating as last time, when she narrowly beat Time for Charity - so is actually better off at the weights but the extra 100m should favor Time for Charity as In the Ether best runs were over 1000; others with chances are Captain Efficient, Phala Millions and the evergreen Jet Cat
Enjoy

She S All Mine is an ex Miller horse with poor form over 1900m last run. Seems that she will enjoy the 1200m today.. I have a 50eachway on this one.

What a result
I thought or hoped that Delaware ran 3rd. Appears not.
Interesting day ahead.
