Re: TURFFONTEIN INSIDE TRACK THURSDAY 16 OCTOBER
6 months 1 day agoI started so well - but in the last 3 races the wheels came offOnly 7 races - but luckily some 'pay-for-lunch' bets - thoughts ...
R1: I thought Mme Huntress was very disapppointing first time out - and at evens does not appeal to me; but the danger Master's Lady does have moderate form and on a line through Dondoyaki should hold Amazonian; I think I'll have a small bet for interest on Far Beyond - decent debut on a track where racing was abandoned and the form does look fair
R2: Trajanus should finally get his victory after 3 consecutive 2nds but you won't get rich - looks to have only Hammer Blow to beat and that is drifting
R3: Another hottie in Onetwobucklemyshoe who also looks hard to beat - but you won't get rich even if you take the double with Trajanus; Arizona Magic had a fair debut and then ran 7,5 lengths behind the much-vaunted African Sky, so probably will run 2nd
R4: Handicap, where Saragossa Cat was an easy Maiden winner; she seems fairly rated at 82, so will go close again; not a lot between Whirlybird and Maverick Queen (apprentice won yesterday, so only 2,5 kgs allowance); Blushing Bloom probably next best, but needs to give Saragossa Cat 1 kg, while the Webber stable has been hot recently and Dixieland Band (pacifiers today) who has her 2nd local run, could provide an upset in the quartet
R5: Very open Pinnacle Plate, where some would need runs in preparation for feature races and some does seem better further and others would prefer shorter; I think perhaps King's Express to go close, but as said, the 'Big F' should apply in exotics
R6: Middle Stakes where the females have the advantage at the weights, so Last Car to Pass should go close from a good draw; Soho Heartthrob is improving and should be competitive; Player is often thereabouts and from a better draw could also be dangerous; Zip Code with the allowance could feature, but has a wide draw, while Birthright should hold Obsidian
R7: Low-level handicap to close; Calida is threatening, but has not won for more than 2 years, so Michael Faraday could defy a 6 points rise in the handicap; if that gets beat anything can win, especially the Webber coupling
Enjoy
