Everybody was Ka Ying Rising 🤣

Everybody Was Ka Ying Rising
Good morning, Clan — as we look forward to a special racing weekend where, hopefully, the punters come out on top.
Donald “FLASH” Trump grabs the international headlines once again, and perhaps locally something positive might emerge from the latest commission — maybe even a few well-deserved jail terms (hopefully not in the same cell block as Bester!).
Ka Ying Rising to Conquer Everest
All eyes will be on Ka Ying Rising, who lines up in The Everest, aiming to prove himself the best sprinter on the planet against some strong local opposition.
The horse has always been a money-spinner but has faced the challenge of travelling and adapting to new surroundings. Despite that, I’m confident Ka Ying Rising can climb Everest this weekend.
We could even see a track record at Randwick, with the current mark sitting at 67.32 seconds. Ka Ying Rising has already broken 68 seconds in 5 of his 14 wins from just 16 starts — impressive form by any measure.
There’s a top-class card on the Australian programme too, featuring three other Group 1 races, while The Everestitself boasts a staggering A$20 million in prize money 💸.
📅 7:15am Saturday – I’ll send a reminder to the WhatsApp group.
British Champions Day – Ascot Saturday
Perhaps the race meeting of the season takes place at Ascot on British Champions Day.
Words of Truth can make it four in a row for Appleby and Buick.
Trawlerman, all heart and courage, should once again take the Stayers’ Race to give William an early double.
The Sprint looks fiercely competitive — Big Mojo is my each-way pick.
The Fillies & Mares division looks deep, so spread your bets in the exotics.
Field of Gold could bounce back to best for Gosden in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
The Big One
The clash between Ombudsman and Delacroix promises to be the highlight of the day, with Calandagan not far behind in the mix.
That said, I’ve no doubt Ombudsman will prove himself the Champion, with his stable even supplementing a pacemaker to guarantee a true test — no excuses.
In the Balmoral, Native Warrior can go close, though it’s worth including a few others in your perms.
Personal Note
It was my birthday 🎂 yesterday, and I want to thank everyone for the kind messages — they meant a lot after what’s been a rough year battling that mysterious virus.
Unfortunately, the bad news is that I’m still struggling with eye complications and will be seeing the specialist again soon 😢.
So here’s hoping I’ll see the sun rising — or better yet, Ka Ying Rising — this weekend. 🙏
Local Racing & Weekend Bets
Check the site for the latest local racing links and updates.
George has a few runners for Zietsman in PE on Friday, so keep an eye on those 🤞.
Weekend Double:
🐎 Ka Ying Rising
🐎 Ombudsman
At 4/1, with plenty of hot picks 🔥 for punters to enjoy.
Not one of my favourite songs, but it feels fitting for the weekend:🎵
And here’s a better one to lift the mood — from Yang, brother of Ying:
🎶
Good punting, Clan — and may your bets rise as high as Ka Ying! 🏇💥

Scotia i think your double will come up. Sadly the birthday surprise flying to PE Fairview on Friday did not materialize as we could have booked a flight overseas for the dash in and out price. Hopefully the horses can reward us as we shout them home from Pretoria.

Draw not kind to Economics and Ombudsman
Economics
already had a big task on his comeback from a year absent in a red-hot Champion Stakes (
4.05
), a job that got even tougher when the draw was made.Last year's Irish Champion Stakes winner has not raced since his sixth in this contest a year ago, but must come from the second-widest stall in 10. There has been only one winner from a double-figure stall in the last decade in this race, which is run on the round course. The ante-post favourite,
Ombudsman
, will come from next to him in stall nine. No horse has won from there since the Champion Stakes was switched from Newmarket in 2011.
