I follow American Racing. I had a quick glance at the field.
Browns and Clements horses do very well on the turf with the former deemed a "Turf" trainer despite being a Preakness winner.
Highland Chief won its first outing in the USA last month. Could be very interesting

Hoping for Rich Strike to prove the Derby win wasn't a fluke but not convinced so it will be Creative Minister for me

1. We The People. Won the Peter Pan at Belmont very impressively.
2. Skippylongstocking. Unknown to me.
3. Nest. Filly. Second in the Kentucky Oaks.
4. Rich Strike. Kentucky Derby winner.
5. Creative Minister. Third in the Preakness. Paid $150k to get supplemented to run in the last two legs. Won on Kentucky Derby day very impressively.
6. Mo Donegal. Won the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, New York beating Early Voting. Came from far back. Unplaced in the Derby. Early Voting won the Preakness.
7. Golden Glider. Unknown to me.
8. Barber Road. One of the posters fancied it in the Derby. Ran unplaced.
Rich Strike for the win. Nest the filly with the 2kg allowance should be thereabouts.
Trivia.
The last filly to win was Rag To Riches in the late 2000s.
Came across a Belmont winner, Go And Go. Trained by the legendary Dermot Weld who was also the first foreign trainer to win the Melbourne Cup. Raced in Ireland. Interestingly has a 2yo went to Laurel Park to run in a feature on turf but the race was moved to dirt after heavy rain and ended up winning. Based on that they ran it in the Belmont Stakes when it was 3 and duly won.
Maybe more UK, French and Irish horses should run in the Belmont because they have more stamina for the 2400m. They should have some sort of dirt pedigree in their lines if possible. Mendelssohn is the most recent Irish horse to run in the Kentucky Derby and in the dirt features in the USA. I think it was done due to it being a sibling to Beholder and champion sire Into Mischief.

On Friday is the Belmont Gold Cup over 3200m on the turf. A rarity distance in the USA. Holly Doyle has a mount. The trainer that won the Arc last year has a runner. Last years winner was from Europe. They should be the main contenders due to the distance. I see an American horse has also won over 3200m. Will confirm.

Have to see the final field but Letrushka and Malathaat run on Saturday. Malathaat won the Oaks last year. Letrushka is a multiple Group 1 winner and already has won a Group 1 race this year. It set a suicidal pace in the Breeders Cup Distaff last year due to another horse eyeballing it and eventually faded out. Malathaat ran third in the same race.

Hopefully 4Racing broadcast all the races from Belmont tomorrow but there is other options available.
Jack Christopher runs in the Woody Stephens. Has won all three starts and was one of the favorites for the Kentucky Derby but an injury forced him not to run in the points races to get in. However he won on Kentucky Derby day. Highly rated and one of the better 3yos and possibly target the Travers after this.
Flightline. Most promising horse but has only run 3 times for a 4yo. His beyer figures are extraordinary. Should be too strong in the Met Mile.
The Breeders Cup could see these two clash in the Classic. Throw in Life Is Good, it will be a race for the ages with lots of other exciting horses as their opposition.

4RacingTV to show $1.5 million Belmont Stakes live on Racing 240 and on dedicated pop up channel
4Racing TV has secured the rights to broadcast this weekend's prestigious Grade 1 $1.5 million Belmont
Stakes on Long island.
One of the world's biggest racing events, the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival at the historic Belmont Park
racetrack will be broadcast live on DStv on Racing 240 this Saturday 11 June, as well as on a dedicated pop up

The pop up channel will start at 16h50 SA time on Saturday, with the first race off at 17h20 and the main
