$2.8m yearling Mount Fuji sold for $75,000 . 97% depreciation in 2 years.

Mount Fuji, sold for $2.8 million at the 2019 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, has been picked up for significantly less than that by Queensland trainer Gillian Heinrich.

By Snitzel out of Group Two winner Ichihara, Mount Fuji was put up for sale after just four starts for the Snowden stable.

Heinrich Bloodstock purchased the well-bred entire for $75,000 via Inglis' 2021 August (Early) Online Sale, which ended on Wednesday.

Gillian Heinrich is based on the Gold Coast, so you would expect Mount Fuji will do most of his future racing in Queensland.

The lightly-raced four-year-old pulled up with respiratory issues after his first start and subsequently underwent a throat operation that saw him sidelined for over 300 days.

Formerly owned and raced by James Harron, Mount Fuji has placed in two of his four career starts and was last seen finishing third at Randwick's Kensington track on July 28 this year.
