Think this race is quite open.
The favourite hasn't had a prep run in Oz.Last raced in the Gt,Voltigeur and beat 5!
Don't know how 3 y.olds shape in this race.
Gold Trip was bought last year from France and has raced in Oz.
In France, raced in very good company.
Will have my 6 pence EW on GOLD TRIP.

OK guys I am back and taking more at 200/1 and various place options.
It ran a good second last time out at the track and 200/1 is over priced IMO
Good Punting

Rekindling and Cross Counter, Northern Hemisphere 3yos have won in recent years. Have to go way back to find a Southern Hemisphere 3yo to have won.

The best I can find on Serpentine is 60/1. Who has the 200/1?

......the tote have again missed a big opportunity in not offering full exotics and promoting the heck out of this event
not that I actually support them anymore..... other than the weekly soccer bet .....as they simply suck when it comes to international horse racing....

The winner will come from Gold Trip, Stockman, Montefilia or Arapaho as they will enjoy the heavy conditions Taken a trifecta and exactas boxed

Deauville Legend deserves to be the favorite.
David Payne with Kevin Shea was winning left right and centre with fillies in South Africa, so Montefilia the mare a huge chance.
Gold Trip and Hoo Ya Mal the former European horses should be thereabouts.
Serpentine too big a price and should be included if you doing dutching with outsiders and include in exactas.
Vow And Declare a former winner is at nice odds.
The New Zealand bred horses do well and Stockman and Smokie Romans are at nice prices with the latter being ridden by Jamie Kah one of the leading women jockeys akin to Hollie Doyle.
Hoping for David Payne and Montifilia.
With Vow and Declare, Hoo Ya Mal, Smokie Romans to follow,
but in South Africa you only can take Exactas. I mentioned 8 horses which cost R56 Exacta boxed but that is quite alot if the favorite arrives. The Exactas normally on Melbourne Cup day pay nicely.
