Champions cup will only be played at three venues. The Oval where even Tahir is capable of scoring a 30 ball 50, Edgbaston wicket favours both bat and ball and Sophia Gardens is pretty flat at the best of times. Scoring 340 plus will win you the match at the latter two and 370 at the Oval

The problem I have with Vernon in the ODI squad is, (this is only my opinion) he is a very one dimensional bowler. Hits a length and gets the ball to wobble. If the wicket is not doing anything, he becomes a liability as he is then very easy to predict. He does not have the pace to push a batsmen back or beat them with a yorker. He is also not a death bowler, so you either have to bowl him out at the start, or find a few overs somewhere else to cover what he didnt dowl at the start. Then if he does go for a bit in his first 3 or 4, you then have to find 6 or 7 overs. Yes, I understand all bowlers will go for a few every now and then, I just feel he isnt able to be as versatlie as some of the others...

Good reasoning karma. IMO they must take Morkel, will extract bounce at all venues

I concur. The only thing is they need to play Morkel in every match possible from now until the tournament as it is well known and his stats will follow up that he gets better with the more bowling he does. He has never done well coming off a break. So with the length of his most recent break, I can only assume that he is going to need to get a good few games under the belt..

Six ODIs before they get to UK. So yes take him to NZ and play him in every match. They also must be playing at least one practice match before the Champions Trophy

My starting 11 would be (and on the assumption Morkel has had a few games under the belt)

De Kock
Amla
Faf
AB
Miller
Duminy
Morris
Pretorius or Parnell (but my personal preference is Pretorius)
Rabada
Tahir
Morkel.

If Morkel hasnt had a few games, then both Pretorius and Parnell.

I would play him in all the odi's and if any T20 are played, he must play those aswell...

Is AB going to play in the champion trophy or is there some lucrative 20/20. comp on at the same time
