Hi Bob, the winner wasn't a scratch but an Emergency acceptor. Whoever said its a scratch doesn't know what he was doing and he is new into Hong Kong racing. For Valley races they accept entries up to 14 horses and 2 will be standby starters and will be scratched a day before ie if the other 12 declare they would run. In this case Astrologer gained the place in the field through a scratching that happened on Mon.
This is different from SA where the Emergency starters appear on the race card esp Greyville.

It was WSB problem, not all bookies problems. The TAB issued this race card. Weak quality control checks by the WSB.

Thanks for clarifying Eram. This entire thread is laughable, with Bob and WSB seemingly suggesting that HKJC would allow something so obviously dumb to happen.

HKJC is the most organised jockey club. The only incident that they were at fault was ONCE when a stray harrow caused a false start.
