Re: SHA TIN 12 FEB 2022
3 years 3 months agoI hate racing here.
Sometimes all favourites or all outsiders. The quality of horses not that good!!!
They have the best quality horses to the extent that bookies are confused which horses got the best form.
Why did the bookies price Texas Moon around 100/1 horse with form below???

Some of our better horses have gone there with limited success.
The quality is much higher than here.
Majority of the horses maybe close to 99% are geldings. All these horses are mostly from Australia and a certain extent New Zealand. The horses that take part in their International meeting maybe just better or on par than our Grade 1 winners but to me alll the others are in the same class like ours. Very hard to compare. Our tried and tested Grade 1 winners won at the International meeting, JJthejetplane, Variety Club and I think Iridescence. Most of our horses that have gone there early in the career hardly of them was a Grade 1 winner. You can be a precocious 2yo early 3yo and not carry your ability forward.

Naresh you probably don't play KZN but have you seen the quality there?
MR in the sixties most of them.None will even place in a class 5 in HK.
Then we have the Vaal which is very similar but a bit better than KZN,and then don't forget PE.
For me our average horse is way below the ability of an average HK runner.

To go to Hong Kong, horses have to meet a certain criteria, rating and age. They class 5 or class 6 horses was either a Grade 2, Grade 3 winner or even a Grade 1 winner at one stage. Some horses will thrive in a new environment, some won't. We cant compare, if they were so good they would have remained in their home countries. Remember some of these owners got horses in other countries as well and bring them to Hong Kong. These Class 4, 5 and 6 horses are past their sell by date and the only reason they still racing is to make a race card/field.

They go there for the money Naresh.
Not sure what the stakes difference is between HK and Australia and NZ but compared to our racing I think it's about 20 times higher.
Win one race in HK and it's the same as winning 20 here.

So near yet so far lol. Racing generally is very difficult for us ordinary punters.
