Betinternet To Close

Betinternet.com, one of the very first online bookmakers, announced today that it is to close and will stop accepting bets from 10am (UK time) on Thursday 5 March. Customers with funds in their Betinternet account have 90 days in which to withdraw them and should contact info@betinternet.com in order to make a withdrawal once the bookmaker closes its website on Thursday morning.

You would think the web address alone would be a winner

Not really sure, Bob, but they never properly exploited their initial success as one of the industry pioneers and certainly missed an opportunity to become one of the dominant online operators from an early stage (perhaps they simply didn't have the financial clout to expand when they should have done). I stopped using them a while ago when they cut right back on their horse racing markets, but I'm sorry to see them shutting up shop as they always treated me courteously and fairly - something which can't be said of every online operator these days.
