Greg Norman’s breakaway golf league
3 years 3 weeks ago
Norman has secured additional funding of $2bln. (BBC). (Watch some of the youngsters in the PGA renege on their word).

Dustin Johnson, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter are some of the players joining LIV for the money. Will they be banned or fined? One thing for sure is that the PGA and DP World are scared shit about what is happening.

Its going to end up like the IPL cricket. Prior to the IPL, there was a league and all the player's who took part got banned. Some of them did play after that for their cricket boards. Eventually the PGA and the European counterpart will have to succumb to the players and make a competition prize worthy . Is winning a major more important or prize money. European Tour is already sponsored by Dubai and they could essentially be a partner or look no further than Qatar.

It is expected that any sanctions to be meted out will only be made public after the players tee off at the Invitational Tournament 15:15 SAftime on Thursday.

PGA Tour are hating on this... They just have to take a deep breath and let it go...
Remember the Chinese thought they could take on the Premier League?

I see the Golf Majors are not controlled by the PGA or European Tour.
If you win a major you can play at the same major for 10 years after the year of win plus the other majors will give you a five year exemption.
Mickelson is over 50 so it makes sense for him to join and he has won a major not too long ago.
Johnson and De Chambeau also major winners so they still can play at the majors unless a rule change.
Oosthuizen is a major winner so is Schwartzel and Garcia but it was quite awhile ago.

Mickelson has a lifetime membership to the PGA , can they take it away once he joins the breakaway league ?
