Great Expectations = Errol Budlender
Another Fanatical Leeds fan - hence my colours (Secret Hero at present) are the famous white with blue & yellow stripe - colours when we won the title in 1991/92.
Have shares in a few runners including Laser Fan with Gavin van Zyl.
Disappointed with the running of the racing industry & when knowledgeable people like Michael Airey leave the industry then you know that there are internal problems. Had great times with the Airey stable including champion filly Dance Every Dance.
Go on you Leeds ....

Gillian = Gillian Holmes Also unrelated to Sherlock and named my dog Watson.
Age 73 moved to durban from Capetown 71 years ago.
Ran book-keeping service for small businesses.
Live with my son Nick and his fiancee of 12 years and their children Zachary 10 Ariel 9, and St.John(I chose that name but not entirely because of the trainer) and 6 dogs including my Watson. Old lady problems keep me pretty much housebound so I give myself an allowance out of my pension for racing and if Nick takes the family on an outing he puts my share of the cost into the betting account.
Interests other than racing are alternative medicine, Feng Shui, Crystal and colour therapy, Animal communication, Herbs, Reading, Learning new things and am 2nd degree Reiki.
Music - Classics Mozart, Beethoven, Bach etc Jazz - Coleman Hawkins, Duke Ellington, Gene Krupa etc Pop - Anything with a nice beat and not discordant or too loud.
Love Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud. and good curry. Drink dry red wine amd I smoke.
1st clear memory of Racing was when Mummy dreamt Ballyjamesduff would win the July. We children sat around the radio cheering the horse on and then waited for Mum and Dad to come home loaded with lots of loverly lolly but unfortunately Dad,who was very involved with members of the racing fraternity, refused to make a fool of himself in front of his friends by backing a donkey and she was too much of a shrinking violet in those days to do it herself..... She still harped on that 50 years later.
3 years later we moved next door to Horace (jacko)Jackson and as his main visitors were racing people and racing was the main topic of conversation, I became more interested in horses and of course as we got older, the jockeys particularly Cyril Buckham whom we youngsters thought was the answer to any maiden's prayer.
My first bet was a shilling each way on Gay Jane in the office July tote.
My first attendance at a meeting was when I was in my very early twenties or late teens and was also one of my most embarrassing moments. A lady from the office who claimed close friendship with all the trainers/owners/jockeys invited me to go and as her pals gave her very good tips we would have a great day. I am sure you can guess the outcome! After our first visit to the parade ring I ducked with a very red face and spent the rest of the day trying to do my own thing and hoping that no-one would see that I was with her. Dad twigged but said nothing knowing that I would learn a valuable lesson.
Fav Jockeys - The ones that win for me. Jessica Goslett was my favourite but what ever has happened to her?
Unfav. Jockeys the ones that don't win for me.
Fav & unfav horses as above- although Sea Cottage stands out in my memory. I always loved the way he seemed to be bowing to his audience when he went down to the start.
Thank you all at ABC. Racing Post on line is now only my 2nd fav. Racing read.

Garrick = Garrick Bergh
Work : The last remains of a financial planning business for clients aged 50+.
Racing : Love horseracing but the industry makes me sick.
Fav Courses : Cheltenham,Goodwood & Epsom

Miss : Newmarket, Gosforth Park & Milnerton ( goodbye 'family silver' ).
Horses : Have owned all of/bits of about 40-50 since 1978 but wish I had rather bought some Porsches or collected more art.
Race : Attend nowhere as I would die of loneliness and prefer it in the home theatre.
Punting : Robert Bloomberg calls me 'Greedy Garrick'. You work it out.
Bets With : Sedley Barr. I just want to get on.
Eats : Anything but no garlic, please.
Drinks : Single Malt - preferably Ardbeg, Laphroaig.
Smokes : Can one say on a 'family site'?
Marital Status : Single ( Who could live with me during Super 14 ? )
Interests : Movies, reading ( only non-fiction & preferably history ), computers, music,sport.
Favourite Movies : Heat, Downfall, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Apocalypse Now, Eyes Wide Shut, Gallipoli.
Music : Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Bach, Progressive
Exercise : Whenever I get the urge I lie down until the feeling goes away.
Activities : Touring on my iron horse.
Ambitions : To own a winner at the Cheltenham Festival and to meet Joni Mitchell.

My name is Anthony, I reside in Northern Johannesburg. I have been a colour holder since the mid-1970's. I enjoy racing horses in partnership as well as individually.
I am a partner in a Textile company.
I also run a lucrative business on the casino floor i.e. When Lady Luck plays you a dirty and all resources have been exhausted I am the guy you look for to provide "the getting out stakes".
I also provide entertainment for the discerning......
I believe the Place Accumulator is the best means of generating a profit, I also have a punt when the opportunity arises (Yes, on information).
Most talented Jockey ever seen (the late) Martin Schoeman. (the real blonde bombshell)
Least favourite jockey: Pierre Strydom
Most promising trainer : Sean Tarry
I support Chelsea F/C
I have not revealed my full identity as I respect that most of my partners are married men and would not like to put them in a compromising position
