It was no at all my intention to be insensitive and I am so glad Buddy is alive and hope he will recover soon, but the message shown on Freeracer now was not the one I saw which clearly indicated Buddy had passed away. I am sure Charl will confirm this.

the news is not good i was just told by oscar.
he has deteriorated very badly this last few hours.
oscar is in contact with somebody at the hospital.

Never speculate but anyway, strength to Buddy and his family. They need all the strength and encouragement they can get right now.

What caused this a virus ?

Buddy is a great man and friend..he is in a seriously critical condition in a top hosp in Arg..things do not look good..our prayers are with him..I spoke to him in early hrs Sat morning as we have been keeping in close contact on his trip and he was very ill..he has a couple of other SA buyers with him and his wife got on a plane this am to Arg..so he is not alone. He has worked incredibly hard there over the last two weeks and was due to leave this tues to come home..lets all pray for this wonderful man who is a legend in this game.

In defence of Hermes, I spoke to owner Andre Macdonald at 11am yesterday morning in response to news of Buddy. He was upset and told me categorically that Buddy had passed away. He said he had spoken to someone at his bedside.

I phoned Andre Macdonald TWICE AGAIN to confirm and had the news briefly on freeracer, however Oscar immediately alerted me that he believed Buddy was still alive and critical and the posting was removed, fortunately after only 5 minutes on.

I would have thought that source to be as reliable as anyone could find, yet it turns out there was some thumbsucking going on. My sincere apologies for that, one can only report as (*very good) sources have it.

Just to add, it took Oscar 7 hours to establish any kind of truth, as various rumours continued to surface and not even sources at the hospital would reveal to Oscar what the true situation was.

Strength to Buddy and his family and may this good man pull through.

Can confirm that an owner, in good faith, gave his condolences to Bradley Maroun yesterday which i'm sure you'll understand sent the poor man into chaos as he was certain his brother was alive.Strength to MR Maroun and Family
