"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 22nd February Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows.......

The 1st runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.38 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner won easily and so a good leave.....

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.68 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, it was another race for all to avoid. The runner made hard work of it, but got the win well enough in the end and so another good leave........

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.7, and with drifting to around 1.84 on arrival and not coming back down to us, we had to avoid the race. The runner was gallant in defeat, but it was a case of the drift beating race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though......

The 4th runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 24.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.9. The price was a well supported 1.62 on arrival and getting shorter and shorter, and so we had a lay at 1.62 max. The lay went and won, so gamble landed and the way it goes........

The 5th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.79 on arrival and then dropping down to us near the off and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.7 max. The lay had to work hard, but ground out a win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 6th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being a well supported 1.56 on arrival, we had a lay at around 1.56. The lay was nicely beaten and so a good result...........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 12.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. There was then another non runner and further 21.7% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.9. The price had drifted to around 2.02 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 1.9 max. The lay went and won a battle, so frustrating and the non runners did us no favour in hindsight to be honest, but that's life and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......

The 8th runner we wanted 1.16, and with being around 1.27 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won without too much fuss, so a good leave.......

The 9th runner we wanted 2.32, and with drifting to around 2.44 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.32 max. The lay went and won, so yet another favourite goes and win, and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....................

The 10th runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.66 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave.......

The 11th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.45 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner ran OK, but was still beaten and so the drift justified and one that got away in hindsight......

The 12th runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.64 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well enough, so another good leave today.........

Th 13th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.74 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, it was another race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well enough, so it was another good leave..........

The 14th runner we wanted 2.56, but a non runner and 3.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.51 (2.5 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.45 on arrival and only got bigger, so with never seeing our lay price at any stage, we all had to avoid another race. The runner ran well, but couldn't win, so it as one that got away in hindsight and the drift justified........

The 15th and final runner we wanted 1.8, but a non runner and 3.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.77. The price was around 2.2 on arrival and never came down to our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won a battling finish, so it was another good leave today.........

VERY WELL BATTLED................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - 4 from the first 5 (80%) went and won - 8 from the next 10 (80%) went and won - 10 from the first 13 (77%) went and won - and 11 from the 15 in total (73%), so ultra tough to make any money what so ever, and all about limiting losses which we did well, so well battled guys.)

'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 2 targets.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 4th runner, and after an Almighty battle against winning favourite's they'll be relieved to get away with a 2 target loss...........That's where they ended it with running out of enough potential lays left, so yet another day with far too many favourite's winning, and we can only be happy with a little loss....

Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 1.62 max, but a poor result see them go a little down early.............They then had their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 1.7 max, but a poor result see them go a bit further behind.............They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 1.56, and a good result see them break level, and with 4 runner builders being level with just one potential lay left, they leave it there with now no room at all for error, so levels they end up, which wasn't a bad result with all those winners early again!.....

5 runner builders carried on and had their 4th lay (the 7th runner) at 1.9 max, but a poor result see them go a little behind again...........They then had their 5th lay (the 9th runner) at 2.32 max, but another poor result see them concede 2 targets....

4 runner strategy (bank builders) £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

1st lay £100 to win the £100 target @ 1.62. Result negative. Lose £62

Total bank now £338

2nd lay £112 to recoup the £62 @ 1.7 max. Result negative. Lose £44

Total bank now £294

3rd lay £147 to recoup the £106 @ 1.56. Result positive. Win £106.

Total bank now £400

That's where they end it with being level with only one potential lay left, and no room at all now for error.

Overall result. Level.

5 runner strategy (bank builders) £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

1st lay £80 to win the £100 target @ 1.62 max. Result negative. Lose £62

Total bank now £338

2nd lay £84 to recoup the £62 @ 1.7 max. Result negative. Lose £44

Total bank now £294

3rd lay £98 to recoup the £106 @ 1.56. Result positive. Win £106.

Total bank now £400

4th lay £200 to win the £100 target @ 1.9 max. Result negative. Lose £90

Total bank now £310

5th lay £155 to recoup the £90 @ 2.32. Result negative. Lose £119

Total bank now £191

Overall result. Concede 2 targets.

Traders had to concede a little on the 4th runner at 1.62 max, but all others see them make a bit, or break level, so they played a blinder with all those winners to end levels at worst...

So yet another day where the favourite's pile in! we had little chance to get any grip on the day, and with 4 runner players finishing level, it was a very very good effort indeed. Others had to give up a couple of targets, but it could've so easily been a great deal worse and so another day where all we could do was limit the damage. Can only get easier, so speak soon with this evening's workings...

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Never easy, and this session no exception to that, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so let's hope value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
