"Group" RESULTS - 'Wednesday Afternoon' 27th February Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....

The 1st runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.78 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won quite well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave........

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.3, and with drifting to around 3.85 on arrival, we had to wait and see. There was then a withdrawal and 13.4% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.99. The price was just getting bigger and we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went straight into a decent lead, but was passed turning for home and finished a very one paced 3rd, so the drift more than justified and one that got away in hindsight. (good ride by the winning jockey, the way he kicked at the turn for home).....

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.36 on arrival and although dropping down, it only came down as low as 1.22 with not a penny matched at any stage at our lay price, so a race to avoid for all. The runner won with ultimate ease, so a good leave........

The 4th runner we wanted 2.9, and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival, getting bigger, and not coming back down anywhere near our lay price, it was another race to avoid for race to race players. The runner came in a one paced 4th after holding every chance, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though.......

The 5th runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.48 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 1.44 max. The lay had to work very hard and looked beat a few times, but under a very hard ride he got the win after a battle, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 6th runner we wanted 2.7, and with getting that on arrival and a little shorter, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and slightly beyond, before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.8 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay came 2nd after a battling finish with the main danger, so a good result..........

The 8th runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 2.68 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at around 2.68 max. The lay pulled hard early, and most of the way round, but it never stopped him as he won and looked very promising to be honest, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 8.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.37 (2.38 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 2.48 on arrival and then dropped back down to us and slightly beyond, so we had a lay at 2.38 max. The lay came in a gallant 2nd, so a good result.........

The 10th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.36 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner finished a one paced and well beaten 5th, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy again though...........

The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with being a well supported 2.42 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 2.42 max. The lay looked beat a few times, but ended up coming through to win quite well in the end, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..................(3 won from the first 5 (60%) - 4 won from the first 8 (50%) - and 5 from the 11 (45.5%) in total, so a tricky session, but we came through that well enough to win the money, break level, or lose a little bit at worst, so well played/battled guys)

'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target...............They started on the 5th runner, and then went and hit their targets on their 3rd lay (the 7th runner), and with not enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, they end the session winning one target....

Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 5th runner) at 1.44 max, but a poor result see them go a little behind early.......They then had a 'free' lay (the 6th runner) that bought a tiny profit............They then had their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 2.7, and a good result see them break level..............They then had their 3rd lay (the 8th runner) at 2.66, but a poor result see them go behind again.........They then had their 4th lay (the 9th runner) at 2.38 max, and a good result see them break level, or need a little more to recoup, but 4 runner builders end level..

5 runner builders needed a little more, and they had their 5th and final lay (the 11th runner) at 2.42 max, but a poor result see them give a little more away, and they ended the session conceding 0.9 of a target at the very worst....

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so they did a good job and well played.....

So a tricky sort of day, but despite frequent winners early it was good to see most win the money, or break level, but a bit frustrating for 5 runner builders as the 'free' lay cost them a little this session, but at the same time they know they have limited funds early in their career, and so they know they're building for the future and to become rollers, so they know the score. Have a good evening........
