"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 28th February Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting around 3.2 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.2. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, before tumbling back down again, so a fluctuating market, but also a chance of a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade came in a nicely beaten 3rd, so a good result.........

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.4, and with being a well supported 2.04 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.04. The lay had to work hard, but got the win and so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.89 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner had to work hard, but got a battling win and so a good leave...........

The 4th runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.53 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so another race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well, so it was another good leave.........

The 5th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 2.08 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid another race. The runner let himself down with a couple of jumping errors, and they cost him with losing by 3/4 l after a battling finish, so one that got away in hindsight..........

The 6th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being a well supported 3.15 on arrival and slightly shorter, we had a lay at around 3.15 max. The lay was beaten and out of the race late on, so a good result..........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being a very well supported 1.65 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.65. The lay and gamble was nicely beaten and so a good result.........

The 8th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around a well supported 2.92 on arrival and getting slightly shorter, we had a lay at around 2.92 max. The lay went and won, but it's safe to say the eventual 2nd would've won but for hitting the last two fences, so frustrating, but that's the game and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it..........

The 9th runner we wanted 3.3, and with drifting to around 4.1 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner was easily beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though..........

The 10th runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.87 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd to his stable mate, so the drift justified and one that got away in hindsight..........

The 11th runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 2.78 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.78. The lay was beaten and so a good result.........

The 12th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.24 on arrival and then coming down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay fell early and so hope he's OK, but a good result financially..............

The 13th and final runner we wanted 3.1, and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival, being over 25 minutes to the race, and only a bit of trading left on offer as all strategy play finished, I'm leaving it there, so good luck if you proceed traders...

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED......................(3 won from the first 4 (75%)) - 4 from the next 8 (50%) - So not an easy start, but we did all we could and either hit our targets, or lost a little bit, depending on how we played the session, so well played/battled)

'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 4th lay (the 7th runner)...........They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 8th runner, and after a poor start they then broke level on their 3rd lay (the 12th runner) and with being level and only one potential lay left, they end it there and so win 1 target on the session...

Strategy/target players (bank builders).......Started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit...........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.04, but a poor result see them go behind early..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 6th runner) at 3.15, and a good result see them win a chunk back...........They then had their 3rd lay (the 7th runner) at 1.65, and a good result see them break level, and that meant 4 runner builders finish here with being level and no room for error now with only one potential lay left.......

5 runner builders were level and carried on, and they had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 2.92, and a poor result see them go behind again..........They then had their 5th and final lay (the 11th runner) at 2.78 and a good result see them recoup a big chunk and end the session conceding 0.75 of a target....

Traders have either won, or broke level on all their trades with one to go, so well played and good luck with the last runner guys...

So another tough start to the day, but we dealt with it well enough and most went on to get the money in the satchels, so that's very well played. Speak soon with this evening's workings....
