SCOTIA AFTER THE WEEKEND!

Good morning to the CLAN after a very pleasant weekend.

Gamblers are always greedy and we are a bit like the fisherman "the one that got away", and this was the case with Gold Tune at 66/1, what we should have done!!!!

From a social side, we had a nice crowd at the table and all of Gajima, Frodo, 2 cents, Shit Happens, Mr Hawaii, Sapo 1, G-man, concerned milkman/ZORO, Cuckoo and myself, not to mention our overseas visitor Jamster, who was taken to see our night life, our should I say bird life after the racing.

On the subject of bird life I must say the RA girls were looking as good as ever and one little beauty caught old Scotia's eye and I said to the lads "wish I was 10 yrs older", they replied "you mean 10 yrs younger"?, to which I replied "10 yrs older, then it would not bother me".

In connection with the races, I must say the food in the Elevation was 5 star, and if you consider, its only R150, and you get R50 betting voucher, which I did put on Gold Tune "ONLY", it was a super social day.

We thought we had lost the milkman before the race as he disappeared and we thought he had taken the wrong bus from the parade ring and ended up at the starting gates for the tour? He was in fact taken by one of the RA ladies to have a drink in the box and collect his DVD of the race, another nice touch.

Well we had a few hectic results and a few comments on the site with regards jocks on the day, but I put it down to the fact that we don't have a current champion horse and we are desperately trying to find another Horse Chestnut, but we will just have to be patient as Clan Classique wont be racing for a couple of months.

Looking overseas, we have the Dubai World Cup to look forward to and Curlin at 12/10 was a good bet? sure it will be 6/10 at the off and in fact 17/20 is the best price on offer now.

Well the lads are off to Cheltenham on Friday, and we wish them a safe and profitable journey, my thoughts are much the same, I was informed that Sizing Europe was a "beast", however my fancy for the Champion Hurdle remains Harchibald and its now as short as 13/2 from 12/1 after its good win on the all weather flat race in Ireland on Friday night.
The opening day can see our Rippling Ring win, have had some good reports on this one and its also firmed in the betting to 10/1.
The Gold Cup, I can say no more but have adjusted my bet its now R6000 for Kauto to win and credit of R250 if it gets beat [ that's the way to gamble] thanks to INTERBET, will be taking the monkey for a drink on the 14th, in fact will be in P.E. that weekend.
As far as the National, Cloudy Lane has gone to 7/1 fav, but I still give McKelvey a great e.w bet at 20/1.

Racing today looks shocking and only for the die hards, at Linfield try a treble with Silent Master, Days of Pleasure and Opus Maximus. Stratford looks a killer, but could give Mickmacmagoole another chance, lost its way last two races, but could be worth a punt at 4/1. Wolves also looks difficult where Given a Choice should win.

Good Punting and may your God be with you.

SCOTIA.

P.S. I left my power cable and adaptor in the Inter access cubicle in the Elevation room on Saturday, would appreciate if you could keep it for me,[ Penny or Debbie]? you have no idea how difficult it was to purchase a new cable on Sunday, all laptop owners keep this in mind, don't loose your wire!

Yes always easy afterwards, and IF one had the common? sense to triple float Gold Tune, my horse (Skipping Home) and Cuckoo's fancy (Read the Stars) with the field in the quartet, one COULD have collected R28 500 for a small outlay!

Anyway, we live to fight another day; well done to all concerned with Gold Tune.
