"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 4th March Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at at 3.0 max. The lay finished well, but 'just' failed to get there late on after a photo finish, and so mild heart attacks all round, but a good result!...........

The 2nd runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.33 on arrival and then coming down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.3. The lay went and won well, so the way it goes......

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.7, and with being a very well supported 2.22 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.22. The lay lost out to the main danger after a dour battle to the line, so another mild heart attack, but another good result too!.........

The 4th runner we wanted 1.6, and with drifting to around 1.67 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price again and so a race to avoid for race to race players. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave.......

The 5th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.38 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.38. The price then drifted out to our lay price of 2.8 and no higher at any stage at all, then came back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.......

The 6th runner we wanted 2.2, but on arrival we were faced with a couple of withdrawals. The first was a reduction of 9.5%, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.09 (2.08 nearest exchange price), and the second was a reduction of 8.7%, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.99. The price was fluctuating all the time due to the withdrawn runners, and then to our surprise they took out the main danger which was a further reduction of 22.8%! so now we wanted a lay price of 1.76. The price shot into around 1.5, so we had a lay at 1.5. The price then drifted big out to our own price of 2.06 (was 2.5 before reductions) and way beyond, and then came tumbling back down again! so clearly people couldn't make their minds up (or couldn't work out the right price!), but all good for us as traders (builders finished for the day)as we had a nice trade before the race. The lay/trade went and won well, so no complaints, but glad of the drift now........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.9, and with drifting to around 3.4 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers never see the lay price and so had to avoid the race. The runner fell, so hope he's OK, but the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.........

The 8th runner was withdrawn, so on to the next runner....

The 9th runner we wanted 1.9, and with drifting to around 1.95 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.9 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.2 and beyond, so a chance of a 'free' lay for traders (builders finished) before the race. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result.......

The 10th runner was withdrawn, so on to the next runner.....

The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 2.48 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.4 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.....

WELL PLAYED......................(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won - 3 from the first 6 (50%) went and won - so not an easy start, but we did well and got the money well and a bit more, so well played guys)

'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) won 2 targets..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner)............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 5th runner, and hit their targets on their 3rd lay (the 9th runner)..........That left an insufficient amount left to start another strategy/target, so they end the session winning 2 targets.......

Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.0 max, and a good result see them win a chunk towards their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.3 max, but a poor result see them give a little back............They then had their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.22, and a good result see them hit their targets.....

Traders had to concede a little on the 2nd runner at 1.3 max, but all others see them make a bit, or break level, so they won a bit on the session and that's well played...

So a good day for builders and they made it look easy, but let's be honest it was a couple of close run things and a winner, so they had the rub of the green, but good to see the value pay off and well played guys. Rollers played a good game too to walk away with a couple of targets, so well played guys, have a good evening and speak in the morning.....

Morning.

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows.....

2.10 Southwell. SAVILE'S DELIGHT (3.1)

Our price 23/10 (3.3) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.0 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

2.30 Exeter. NEVADA ROYALE (1.45)

Our price 1/2 (1.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.3 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he did take the lead early on chase debut last time, and although switched to hurdles for today, and although was held up during his time over hurdles and on the flat when in Italy, he 'may' decide to take them along today with seemingly being the class act of the field*

2.40 Southwell. KANISORN (2.9)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that although he doesn't tend to lead, he can take plenty of riding to keep an interest during the race, but! also can stay on all day 'if' on a going day. Likes this track*

2.50 Newcastle. NOBLE ALAN (1.77)

Our price 4/5 (1.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.6 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

3.10 Southwell. GLOBAL TRAFFIC (2.48)

Our price 9/5 (2.8) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.5 or under.

*Please note that 'Babieca' was withdrawn at 15:29 'yesterday', and therefore is of no significance to us, so please ignore! just in case there's a delay to this race and then it would appear a bit confusing, if you get my drift!*

3.50 Newcastle. SILVER SEDGE (2.42)

Our price 6/4 (2.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.2 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

4.00 Exeter. PRESIDENT ROYAL (2.8)

Our price 11/5 (3.2) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.9 or under. *Traders be aware that this fella has a tendency to lead, or race very prominent in his races*

4.20 Newcastle. KILLYGLEN (2.98)

Our price 12/5 (3.4) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.1 or under. *Traders be aware that this one has a tendency to lead, or race very prominent in it's races*

4.40 Southwell. DENBERA DANCER (1.99)

Our price 6/5 (2.2) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.9 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that this one has a tendency to lead, or race very prominent in it's races*

4.50 Newcastle. STAGECOACH OPAL (3.4)

Our price 12/5 (3.4) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.1 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

5.00 Exeter. I'M A LEGEND (2.6)

Our price 17/10 (2.7) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.4 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:06am.

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. A bit of a mixture, and never easy (don't expect it to be), but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so with discipline to the maximum and with taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon....
