RA RACE SPONSORSHIP

Just a thought to test the waters - What would my fellow RA members think of drawing the name of an oncourse RA Member from a hat and then giving him/her personal naming rights to a race sponsored by the RA instead of calling races RA MR 65 etc - might bring guys to the course for the prestige - could then also give winning owners of race a bottle of champaigne as an added bonus(would obviously have to be on course - if you guys think it's worth entertaining i'll send to the appropriate person

I would just name the next weeks meeting races after last weeks horsies that won.

Mr H, not a bad idea, I would bring a crowd, in fact I am planning to book for +/- 60 in May and take the Bold Cherry room, would be nice to have one of the races named after one of the "party" to add a bit spice to the day?

Great idea but would go one step further in that I would name a race after the owner of a week?as a sort of honour?

Thought about that wise but that excludes too many owners that are new to the game and may not have a winner for years- also the owners(month) tend to be big owners who get enough exposure from commentators and presenters already - like to give accolades to the guys that go racing week after week and may not always have instant track success

True then how about taking a day a month and naming the races on that card after new owners, owner of the week etc? Maybe a mid week program?

Going to try my luck and send it off to the powers that be!! Can you imagine bringing you mates to the races to see a race named after you!! And all you had to do was be an Ra member that was on course to enter!!
