I have tried to follow jumping but everytime I see a horse fall, my heart is my mouth and hope that the poor horse gets up and nothing is wrong with it.

Give me flat racing anytime.

Those of you who are interested in finding out 'what the horse thinks' about jump racing might like to temporarily set aside your Computaforms and get hold of Dick Francis' autobiography entitled 'The Sport Of Queens'.

Francis deals at some length with the issue as well as the famous ( infamous? ) Grand National where he was riding the Queen's horse Devon Loch and the animal, for no apparent reason, sprawled within sight of the winning post whilst leading the race by a comfortable margin.

Dick Francis, as many will know, has gone on to become a world famous writer of thrillers which often draw upon racing as a background.
