"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 29th March Workings..
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting around 3.25/3 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so now a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won well to be fair, so the way it goes, but glad of the drift now........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.39 on arrival and just getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave........
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.5, and with being around 1.8 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a poor race to be fair and was subsequently beaten, so 'one that got away in hindsight'.......
The 4th runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.63 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid another race. The runner ran poorly and was easily beaten, so another surprise result and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 5th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.81 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so another race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 2.66 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.66. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 3.2 and beyond, so a chance of a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade went and won after looking i trouble at one stage, so the way it goes, but glad now of the drift........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 11.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.32. The price was around 2.8 on arrival and never came down to our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd after a battle, so it was 'one that got away in hindsight'.............
The 8th runner we wanted 2.4, and with drifting to around 3.5 on arrival and not coming back down anywhere near our lay price, it was a race to avoid. The runner won a dour battle to the line, so a good leave this time..........
The 9th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to around 3.05 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The price then went back the other way, and out to our own price of 3.1 and beyond, so another chance today for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade ran a poor race to finish last, so a good result.........
The 10th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.84 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner had every chance, but just wasn't good enough, so 'one that got away in hindsight'.......
The 11th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to slightly higher and 2.84 on arrival, and then dropping back down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay came in 2nd after a battling finish, so a good result....
The 12th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 3.65 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner (returned 5/2 sp), but more importantly a good leave........
The 13th runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.7 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price and so we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
The 14th runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 2.86 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 2.86 max. The lay went and won well (looks a very good prospect) and so the way it goes..........
The 15th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 3.45 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had tom avoid the race. The runner got beat after a battling finish, so the drift justified in the end, and 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 16th and final runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 2.68 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers never see the lay price again, so had to avoid the race. The runner went and battled to a win, so a good leave.........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - 4 from the first 6 (66.66%) went and won - 5 from the first 8 (62.5%) went and won - 6 from the first 12 (50%) went and won - 7 from the first 14 (50%) went and won - and 8 from the 16 (50%) in total. So very tough session, but happy to say we came through level, or losing a little at worst, so well played/battled guys)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 1 target...........They started their first strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a tough start they went to their 5th and final lay (the 14th runner) to recoup a little, but a poor result see them concede one target on the session/day, so frustrating, but very difficult with too many winners...
Bank building strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief..........They then had another 'free' lay (the 6th runner) but again no free profit, but plenty of relief............Then yet another 'free' lay (the 9th runner) which bought a tiny profit...........They then had their 1st lay of the session (the 11th runner) at 2.8 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 14th runner) at 2.86 max, but a poor result see them either stand a tiny bit ahead (4 runner builders), or a little behind (5 runner builders)............4 runner builders then found themselves a bit over level with just one potential lay left, so always advised to take the levels and walk with now no room 'at all' for error. So 4 runner builders finish level..
5 runner builders needed a little to break level and went in search of their 4th lay, but they never got their prices on any of the remainder, so they end the session conceding a little 0.3 of a target....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

Traders had to concede a little on the 14th runner at 2.86 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, and they finished around levels, so a good battling effort.......
So a very tricky and tough session, and although we either broke level or lost a tiny bit, it was a good effort with too many winners, so we'll just accept that and look ahead to tomorrow. Well battled guys!..
Marc.
