SCOTIA AFTER THE "29TH".
17 years 2 months ago
Good morning to the CLAN and can only say the "29th" was a great day!
After my early call from "easygoer", he phoned shortly after to say the Spar shop had his lottery tickets, but we have not checked the results yet, but I have plenty "29"s [ my roulette number ], if we have won, this will be my last post! .
The day went as follows:
Nice breakfast and exchanged anniversary presents, gift voucher for Mrs S to go to the shops this morning and more JWB for me, in addition more glasses, in fact when I came home last night I had one LAST one and noticed that on the glass was a picture of Dougie Whyte? I initially thought, I never remember Dougie being a drinker, then I found another one with Strydom, with Newmarket Turf Club, remember buying a set many years ago, now they are mixed with the 1,000 jwb glasses!
As far as the big T another 5 star day, good food, good service and met many interesting "punters", also a 21st birthday with everyone all dressed up, wine tasting was an addition, the performance of the day was "She's on Fire", I had the pleasure of meeting Barry Irwin, I had two glasses in my hand at the time, but he said in his American accent "Don't worry, I know exactly who you are", I am not sure if that's good or bad? However well done!
The day started with Mrs S getting the R100 vouchers to punt, her first call to the lad taking the bets was R10 ew on Danvida, giving him a R50 note, he came back with a ticket and no change, but R25 ew on the "winner" at 7/1, second race no mistake R10 ew on Tea Break at 65/1, this is when I put away the computerform and switched off the computer! The rest of the day a bit up and down, bottom line Mrs S won a grand and I came back strongly with Sun Classique[ what must Clan Classique, be worth now?], and Curlin, so a great day had by all.
Have enough posts on the site re: the fantastic performance by the South Africans and it must have been great to be at the track, but a HUGE well done to ALL the connections.
Difficult to get back down to earth today, as we have the big T again, where Harbour Gold and Pericles look best, I am sure SMILEY is calling a couple of races from Durbanville today? where Rexana and Saghwiti are another double?, and just to use up some profit from yesterday, Raysrock and Santo Stefano can win at Hexam and Leading Attraction can romp home at Kempton.
Good punting and may your GOD be with you!

Good Morning Scotia...and I see Cuckoo's attentive too!
A great weekend had by many incuding yours truelly. Started with a treble in the 1st 3 races at Durbanville on Saturday, followed by loyalty bets on both Sun and J.P. Shed a few joyous tears in the process. (the kids were embarrassed with their friends witnessing this mushy stuff)
Is this "AS GOOD AS IT GETS".
P.S. is your missus thinking of turning pro?

Well thanks for letting me hear the commentary in the car, but it was a poor reception due to the snores from the passenger seat!
