"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 1st April Workings..
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.94, and with getting around 2.76 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.76. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 3.25 and beyond, before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten after a close photo finish, so nail biting stuff, but a good result.......
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.5 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see a penny matched at our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner battled well, but could only manage 2nd, and so it was a case of 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.66, and with drifting to around 1.76 on arrival and then coming down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 1.66 max. The lay came in 2nd, and so a good result........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.1, and with drifting to around 3.05 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all after mails were sent, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, as the eventual well supported favourite won it, so the drift more than justified there, and 'one that got away in hindsight'............
The 5th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.08 on arrival, getting slightly bigger, and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd, so tried hard, but a case of 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to around 3.25 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though........
The 7th runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to around 3.3 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch again. Grr. Early traders again happy though.....
The 8th runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.39 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, but not without a scare or two, but a good leave........
The 9th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 4.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.2. The price was around 4.6 on arrival and although dropping down, it never came down anywhere near enough, and not a penny was matched at our lay price, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so another drift justified this afternoon, and 'one that gets away in hindsight'........
The 10th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.66 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.66. The lay went and won after a battle, so the way it goes, but only traders playing now and they easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......
The 11th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 2.1 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so yet another drifter justified this afternoon, and another that 'gets away in hindsight'.........
The 12th and final runner was withdrawn, so that's that!
WELL PLAYED........
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target...........They started their first strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner).............They then ran out of enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, and so they end the session winning 1 target....
Bank building strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit..........They then had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 1.66 max, and a good result see them hit their targets....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100.
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £410
1st lay £102.50 to win the remaining £90 @ 1.66 max. Result positive. Win £90
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £408
1st lay £81.60 to win the remaining £92 @ 1.66 max. Result positive. Win £92
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades and so well played guys...
So bank builders had a nice and easy time of it (although three early seconds certainly wasn't as easy as it looked, have to admit!), so that's always good as they hit and walk early. Rollers also got the wages, so a good enough day all around. Too many drifters that got beat, but as long as we get the money, then we'll settle for it..Well played and speak in the morning guys...
Marc.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:07am.
That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. Never easy, and we never expect it to be, and with several races lacking strength in depth, it all makes up into a tricky and testing looking session. We do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle though, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon..
