Virus problem Turffontein traing centre
17 years 2 months ago
Hi guys
Just a word of warning in regard to horses trained at the Timber City Turffontein training centre. I had a horse running Sunday which finished unexpectedly well down the field. A veterinary inspection revealed a severe viral infection in the throat. We have seen this same infection in another horse in the yard which also ran a shocker and has been under treatment for a couple of weeks now. The stables runners are also running patchily, some performing well, others unexplainably shocking.

No sympathy required or expected Cat, been in the game long enough to know better. What was interesting was that neither horse showed any signs of distress, coughing, not eating up etc before hand. Both had been working well.
As for Lucky, hate to think how far JJ would have won if the horse didn't have a virus !!!

The end is Nearing for Koos' training career. He did help a few get their licenses though. Tyrone Z, Romeo F and Jan Breedt comes to mind.
