"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Wednesday 2nd April Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....

The 1st runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.0 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.0. The price then went for a big drift as if a leg had fallen off! and out to our own price of 3.6 and way beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade actually went and won! and so the way it goes, a nice priced winner, and builders glad of the drift now! amazing sp (returned 9/2!!!).................

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.3, but an important non runner and 28.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.64. The price was a well supported 1.95 on arrival and getting shorter, so we had a lay at 1.95 max. The lay was beaten, so gamble foiled and a good result........

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 2.02 on arrival and although coming down in price, it never came down to our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so a case of 'one that got away in hindsight'............

The 4th runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.02 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at around 2.02 max. The lay had to work very hard, but got the better of a battle and close finish, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 5th runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 3.9 on arrival and just getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr!. Early traders happy though........

The 6th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being around 4.1 on arrival and then tumbling down to our lay price right near the off, under good late support, we had a lay at 3.5. The lay was beaten and so a good result.........

The 7th runner we wanted 3.45, and with drifting to around 3.65 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.45 max. The lay went and won, so the late money spot on, and the way it goes.....

The 8th runner we wanted 3.45, and with being a well supported 2.64 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.64. The lay had to work very hard, but got the win and so the way it goes. Only traders playing now, and they easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......

The 9th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being a well supported 1.94 on arrival, we had a lay at around 1.94. The lay was nicely beaten, and so a good result.....

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.............(4 from the first 8 (50%) went and won, so we played it well with those big prices)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 0.5 of a target at worst if having to play their 5th lay. or levels if they got slightly better prices...............They started their first strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a poor start and a battle with high prices, they went to their 5th lay (the 7th runner) to recoup a little amount, but a poor result see them concede 0.5 of a target at the very worst, or if they gained better prices then they'd have walked with being levels after their 4th. ......

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay that only bought relief!..............They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.95 max, and a good result see 4 runner builders hit their targets......

5 runner builders needed a little more and so carried on, and had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.04 max, but a poor result see them give a little back...............They then went to their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 3.5, and a good result see them hit their targets too...

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

1st lay £100 to win the £100 target @ 1.95 max. Result positive. Win £100

Total bank now £500

Overall result. Target hit.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 1.95 max. Result positive. Win £84

Total bank now £484

Total bank now £467

3rd lay £155 to win the remaining £33 @ 3.5. Result positive. Win £33

Total bank now £500

Traders had to concede a little on the 7th runner at 3.45 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they would've ended around levels....

So 4 runner builders play a blinder early and get the money - well played guys. 5 runner builders had to wait a little longer, but no problems and they hit soon after, so well played too guys. Rollers had to suffer the 1st lay, and after a battle with winners and especially the big prices, they had to concede a little 0.5 of a target on the session at the very worst, so a bit frustrating, but the way it goes and no harm done, and levels easily gained with those slightly better prices!. Speak soon with this evening's workings...

Morning.

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows.....

2.20 Catterick. GHAFEER (3.0)

Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.

2.30 Lingfield. ANDAMAN SUNSET (3.2)

Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.

2.40 Nottingham. SALLY'S DILEMMA (1.98)

Our price 4/5 (1.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.6 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that she made all on debut, so no surprise to see her try and do the same this afternoon on her second start*

3.10 Nottingham. SONNY RED (2.3)

Our price 6/4 (2.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.2 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he has a few races of running, so no surprise to see a prominent display this afternoon*

3.30 Lingfield. MY MENTOR (3.45)

Our price 14/5 (3.8) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.5 or under.

4.20 Catterick. DNATA FLYER (3.25)

Our price 14/5 (3.8) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.5 or under. *Please note that more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

5.00 Lingfield. HAZYTOO (3.2)

Our price 11/4 (3.75) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.45 or under. *Please note that he's been well supported this morning, so with a 'bit' more emphasis gone on the early markets for clues, 11/4 seems correct and so win or lose, we'll stand strong*

5.10 Nottingham. JASER (3.15)

Our price 11/4 (3.75) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.45 or under. *Please note there's been plenty of money for this fella this morning, so with putting a 'bit' more emphasis on the early markets for clues, 11/4 would appear the correct price, so win or lose we'll go with it*

5.20 Catterick. GOLDEN DANE (2.62)

Our price 9/5 (2.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.5 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:13am.

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Not easy as the prices are quite a bit high on the averages giving us limited room for error, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with the results mail, and of course this evening's workings...
