Good Bye Mr D
17 years 2 months ago
One of my all time favourites, the first horse that I can say that made me some cash and the horse that got me into racing, is retiring.
I must say that I am sad to see him go and would love to have seen him have another crack at the Canon Gold Cup. Her really does have a special place in my heart and racing memories and I must say I got quite emotional when I read the news letter.
Live well my four legged friend. A July champion is a champion in my mind.

Thanks Alcaponee, its a great tribute on the MBR site and well worth a read.
Don't think Robert will object to me saying that I mailed him a short congrats after the Algoa Cup win last year and his reply, part of which is posted says it all.
"He’s enjoying his racing and will tell us when he’s had enough".
Sums it up for me, I love horses you can relate to.
Happy retirement Dunford.

Great little horse with a heart as big as he was. Good day for me when he won the july as i had taken some 50/1 and 33/1 in the ante post market, and won the jackpot (paid 7K+) with Dunford as a banker !
